Nokia ramping orders in preparation for "several" multi-touch phones?



While DigiTimes tends to nail rumors focused on Taiwanese companies like Acer and ASUS, its component supplying sources can be hit or miss across other geographies. So take it with the usual lump of NaCl when talkative sources say that Nokia is increasing orders in March as it prepares to "launch several 3G and 3.5G products with multi-touch and multimedia functions in 2009" -- Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, and Synaptics being the chief beneficiaries. Of course, Nokia has been perfectly clear that its 5800 was the just the initial salvo in an onslaught of touchscreen devices to come and led by its flagship N97. Nevertheless, with profits down and the economy mired in the suck, it's nice to have confirmation (as tenuous as it is) that things are on track in Espoo.

Nokia N97 designer interview accidentally outs two new Nokia sets?



Sure, the pic looks a wee bit dodgy, but regardless it shows what looks to be two Nokia sets we've not seen before. Both of these ape the N97 -- which explains how this vid has been circulating since the 29 of January -- but the set on the right has had its d-pad moved to the right side of the keyboard and the buttons on the face seem absent. The handset on the left differs as it looks -- arguably -- thinner than the N97 and the front lip is sporting what appear to be a mini USB port and headset adapters. GSMArena has pointed out a couple sets from Nokia's leaked roadmap that could fit the bill. The Ivalo (left) has a 3.5-inch touchscreen, 32GB ROM, AGPS, a 5 megapixel camera, WiFi, and rounds out with TV-out and Bluetooth. The Madeleine, if that's what it is, has a side sliding keyboard, WiFi, Bluetooth, FM Radio,GPS, and a 3.2 megapixel camera. Hopefully the truth is waiting for us in Barcelona, but feel free to peek at the video after the break to keep your spirits up 'til then.

8MP Nokia Nseries smartphone to be launched at MWC 2009

Well what do you know, Nokia might finally announce an 8 Megapixel camera phone, many months after three of its major competitors (Samsung, LG and Sony Ericsson) have done it.

In a recent article posted at the 2009 Nseries blog, Nokia shows us a picture and mentions that it’s made in Barcelona, “with a Nokia device”.

Said picture has a resolution of 3274 x 2448 pixels, thus it was taken by a camera of at least 8 Megapixels. Therefore, the only conclusion we can draw is that the Finnish giant has an 8MP Nseries smartphone ready to be announced at MWC 2009.

In the pic’s Exif data, it can be read that the camera used for it features Carl Zeiss lens – which is no wonder, since all of Nokia’s high-end phones feature them.



There’s no clear info about the 8MP Nseries smartphone at the moment, but MWC 2009 is just three days away, so let’s wait for it to come. It looks like we won’t be regretting the absence of Samsung’s 12MP phone after all.

What Will Be The Most Important Nokia Announcement At Mobile World Congress?!



I just saw the sample image on the Nseries Innovation News Desk site and apparently, it seems like Nokia has an 8 MPX cameraphone ready to be revealed at the GSMA Mobile World Congress.

A quick shot at the EXIF data reveals that photo is authentic and never been doctored by Photoshop before it seems. Furthermore the resolution of the photo is 2448 x 3264 pixels which is equivalent for the 8 MPX camera sensor.

Photo was taken by the Undisclosed Nokia device equipped with Carl Zeiss optic and hopefully 5th edition of the S60 platform!?

Well, if we can believe to recently leaked Nokia Smartphone roadmap, it could be Corolla as it is only 8 MPX phone listed there!? Corolla is by the way one of the most impressive devices from the list!

Phone is expected to be equipped with great high-definition VGA screen resolution but it will be not touch enabled although it is listed as 5th ed devoice?

Beside the 3.0-inch VGA display it is rumoured to be equipped with, half QWERTY keyboard, 8GB build in flash memory, WiFI, UPnP, HSPA, AGPS and FM transmitter.

I wonder what your thoughts on this are!? Nokia is not the leader in the megapixel race anymore so will they attempt to smash competition with quality!? Xenon flash, high-quality Carl Zeiss optic, improved software, HD video recording!? Why don't you come out of your shell and try to be more social and tell us what you think about?
