Ovaj susret dobija na važnosti time što je šef izbornog štaba Klintonove Džon Podesta, osnivač uticajne lobističke kuće “Podesta grupa”, koja radi upravo za vlasnika “Delte” Miroslava Miškovića, o čemu je naš list nedavno pisao.
Bliska saradnica Miškovića, međutim, juče nije bila raspoložena da razgovara o susretu s Klintonovom.
Na pitanje novinarke “Blica” da li je tačno da se sastala sa američkom političarkom i o čemu su razgovarale, Marija Desivojević Cvetković drsko je odbrusila: “Baš ću tebi da otkrijem šta sam pričala sa Hilari Klinton”.
Ona je potvrdila da “Podesta grupa” radi za “Deltu”, ali je istakla da se to lobiranje tiče samo biznisa, a ne sudskog postupka koji se vodi protiv Miškovića.
Klintonova se ovih dana i zvanično kandidovala za buduću predsednicu SAD, a njena desna ruka je osnivač „Podesta grupe“, koju je Mišković angažovao ubrzo nakon što je uhapšen decembra 2012. godine.
Kompanijom rukovodi Toni Podesta, s obzirom na to da se Džon svojevremeno povukao iz upravljanja kada je ušao u državu administraciju.

US election 2016: Koch brothers identify five Republican Party candidates they may back at primaries

The Koch brothers have signalled which Republican presidential candidates they plan to back during the primaries in an exclusive interview with USA Today.
Charles and David Koch identified Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Kentucky Senator Rand Paul as the candidates with "a good chance of getting elected".
Cruz, Rubio and Paul have already announced their candidacies, while Walker and Bush are expected to announce their bids soon.
"Those are the ones we have talked to the most and who seem to be the possible leaders," Charles Koch told USA Today.
Koch added that they are not currently supporting any contenders, but will likely provide financial help to several candidates. "We're telling them that if they want our support, one way to get it is articulating a good message to help Americans get a better understanding and a better appreciation of how certain policies... will benefit them and will benefit all America."
According to USA Today, the Kochs will allot about $300m (£200m) to both federal and state elections in 2016. The brothers' multibillion-dollar Koch Industries have a $900m, two-year budget devoted solely to politics, Charles Koch explained.
Koch reiterated that a candidate with a positive message would most likely receive their financial support, but there were no guarantees Koch Industries would back only one candidate before the 2016 Presidential election.
Charles's comments come just a day after brother David praised Walker during a speech in New York, USA Today reported. Despite the speculation that the brothers had already chosen their favourite candidate, Charles said they have yet to raise the $900m budget.
A 20 April CNN/ORC poll revealed Bush leads with 17% among official and likely GOP candidates. Walker followed with 12%, while Rubio and Paul tied with 11%. Fellow official candidate and possible Koch-backed candidate Ted Cruz, saw an increase in support from 4% in March to 7% in April.
2016 GOPers court pro-Israel donors at Sheldon Adelson’s unofficial primary

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Sen. Ted Cruz, former Gov. Rick Perry, and other 2016 presidential hopefuls flocked to Sin City on Saturday to tout their support for Israel at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s spring meeting, where hundreds of influential conservative donors gathered to evaluate the emerging field.
The event was hosted by gaming billionaire and GOP mega-donor Sheldon Adelson at his palatial Venetian Hotel, famous for an indoor canal where gondoliers serenade casino-goers as they drift past celebrity chef restaurants, designer clothing stores, and a scented oxygen bar.
The dominant topic on everyone’s lips over the weekend was the Obama administration’s ongoing talks with Iran, which attendees fear will fail to curb their nuclear ambitions and, by undoing economic sanctions, will strengthen the Islamic Republic’s ability to finance extremist groups throughout the Middle East.
With the exception of Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, who has expressed more interest in negotiations and favors a lighter U.S. footprint abroad, the GOP field tends toward the party’s hawks on Iran and on foreign policy in general. Paul has made an effort to shore up relations with skeptical pro-Israel groups, however, and met with Adelson earlier this year.
“It is not complicated for Republican politicians to come to the RJC and say they’ll stand with Israel,” Cruz said in his remarks. “Unless you’re a blithering idiot, that’s what you say when you come to the RJC.”
Cruz argued that his legislative record was his standout feature, pointing to a bill that offered a multi-million dollar reward for the capture of those responsible for the murder of three Israeli teens last year that led to a deadly conflict between the Israeli military and Hamas militants in Gaza. He boasted that he called for John Kerry’s resignation after the secretary of state warned in a closed-door meeting that Israel could become an “apartheid state” if the Israeli-Palestinian conflict continues.
“How do you distinguish who will actually follow you? I think the answer is to say, ‘Talk is cheap – show me,’” Cruz said.
Perry took a more general approach, bashing Obama’s handling of negotiations with Iran, warning of rising anti-Semitism in Europe, and drawing a standing ovation for decrying demands for an economic boycott of Israel from campus activists.
“The fact is, it doesn’t limit them, it legitimizes them,” the former Texas governor said of the Iran framework. “It is a dangerous deal and for the sake of peace in the Middle East it must be stopped.”
The competition for dollars is heated. In interviews, attendees over and over again emphasized how large and accomplished the emerging pool of Republican White House hopefuls is in 2016 compared to 2012, where Mitt Romney dominated establishment support early while fighting off a series of short-lived surges from lesser-funded opponents. Many are holding off on backing one contender until they have a better sense of who is running and whether they have any staying power.
“You have a field of thoroughbreds,” former Minnesota Senator Norm Coleman, who supports South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham for president, told reporters. “A lot of people want to see the scorecard and then they’ll pick and choose.”
Other speakers included Indiana Gov. Mike Pence and, at a private event, Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, both of whom are considered possible 2016 contenders.
“We must stand without apology for our most cherished ally, the Jewish state of Israel,” Pence said in his speech.
Coleman caused a stir at the event after telling reporters that Snyder had indicated to donors he was definitely running – a spokesman for the governor told The Guardian shortly afterward that he had not yet decided on his plans.
Other speakers included former President George W. Bush, 2012 presidential nominee Mitt Romney, and House Speaker John Boehner, all of whom addressed attendees at closed-door events.
Organizers and participants told msnbc they believed the Iran issue and President Obama’s tense relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would drive members to new heights of giving in 2016. Attendance at the event was up 75% from 2014 and 125% from 2013, according to RJC spokesman Mark McNulty.
“Our best recruiters are Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton,” McNulty told msnbc.
The RJC boasts support from a number of leading GOP funders that any 2016 hopeful would love to have on their side. The clear shining prize for now, however, is Adelson, whose endorsement alone could turn an underfunded also-ran into a dark horse making a credible push for the nomination.
One of the world’s richest men, Adelson is a leading advocate for Netanyahu’s Likud government in Israel, where he owns a prominent right-leaning newspaper. In 2013, Adelson suggested at a panel discussion in New York that the U.S. should drop a nuclear bomb in an unpopulated desert in Iran, then say “the next one is in the middle of Tehran,” rather than engage in negotiations. (A spokesman later told reporters the comment was meant as “hyperbole”).
A Politico report indicated that Florida Sen. Marco Rubio has the edge in earning Adelson’s support, but a spokesman for Adelson denied any decision had been made. Mort Klein, president of the Zionist Organization of America and a friend of Adelson, told msnbc in Vegas that he believed the casino magnate was still weighing his options as well.
“What he’s looking for is a winner,” Klein said. “I don’t think he’s made any decision.”
In an op-ed in the Times of Israel, Democratic chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz derided the RJC conference as an audition for Adelson’s personal support rather than a representation of the broader Jewish community, noting that Jewish voters have long supported Democratic presidential candidates by wide margins.
“[Don’t] allow yourself to be fooled into thinking that these candidates are making a real attempt to appeal to American Jewish voters,” Wasserman Schultz wrote. “Their presence is all about winning over a single Jewish donor: Sheldon Adelson.”

Why Is an Israeli-American Billionaire Pouring Millions into the Clinton Foundation?

Weeks after Hillary Clinton became secretary of state, the State Department objected to a proposed consultancy arrangement offered to Bill Clinton by media mogul Haim Saban, citing concerns about conflict of interest. Nevertheless, public records show that Saban’s nonprofit gave millions to the Clinton Foundation throughout Hillary Clinton’s tenure.
Saban, a billionaire best known for creating Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, has dual U.S.-Israeli citizenship and has spent heavily to support Israel. “His greatest concern, he says, is to protect Israel, by strengthening the United States-Israel relationship,” The New Yorker noted in a 2010 profile of Saban. At a conference in Israel, the article said, Saban had outlined three methods for influencing American politics: “make donations to political parties, establish think tanks, and control media outlets.”
Saban’s foreign-policy activism did not escape the attention of the State Department. The agency’s designated ethics adviser, James H. Thessin, wrote in a memo that his objection to the proposed consultancy was “based on the fact that Haim Saban, a founder of this entity, is actively involved in foreign affairs issues, particularly with regards to the Middle East, which is a priority area for the Secretary.”
Thessin’s memo, one of 1,017 pages of records obtained by Judicial Watch, was the only instance in which the Department of State objected to one of Bill Clinton’s proposed speaking engagements or consultancy agreements.
Yet between 2009 and 2013, as Hillary Clinton served as secretary of state, the Saban Family Foundation paid the Clinton Foundation more than $7 million, and listed $30.5 million in “grants and contributions approved for future payment,” according to nonprofit records filed with the Internal Revenue Service. It’s unclear whether there was any overlap between the $7 million paid and $30.5 million committed to the Clinton Foundation in those years.
The Saban Family Foundation and Haim Saban declined National Review’s request for comment and would not answer questions about how much they had given to the Clinton Foundation while Mrs. Clinton was secretary of state. The Clinton Foundation lists donations from “Cheryl and Haim Saban & The Saban Family Foundation” in the $10 million to $25 million range.
Since 2009, Hillary and Bill Clinton have both given speeches at Saban Family Foundation forums. Then–secretary of state Clinton delivered a major policy address on Israel at one such forum. And in 2013, Saban’s wife, Cheryl, joined the Clinton Foundation’s board.
It’s not clear whether anyone at Foggy Bottom reviewed or approved these donations or Hillary Clinton’s speaking engagement at the Saban Family Foundation forum; the State Department did not respond to National Review’s repeated e-mail inquiries and phone calls by deadline.
The Clinton Foundation did not respond to e-mails, and the voicemail of its spokesperson was full. The Clinton campaign was similarly unresponsive to National Review’s e-mailed requests for comment.
Saban has been a longtime friend and supporter of the Clintons, also donating more than $12 million to Democrats since 2002, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. He was a major fundraiser for Hillary Clinton’s previous presidential campaign, and in addition to giving to the Clinton Foundation, he has also donated around $5 million to the Clinton Library.
The Sabans have continued to support Hillary Clinton long after she left her post at the State Department; this past Thursday, Cheryl and Haim Saban hosted a $2,700-per-person fundraiser for her at their Los Angeles home.
