iPhone: iBluetooth 2.0 app soon to support 3.xx firmware



Oh yeah! great news for our iPhone readers. It appears that the iBluetooth 2.0 application (for jailbroken iPhones / iPod Touch) that allows you to send files via bluetooth to all other mobile phones is soon going to support the 3.xx firmwares.

    This post is to inform you that I’m still working on the new version of iBluetooth (no, not the ‘run away with the money “). As mentioned previously, the new version (2.0) is compatible with iPhone 2G, 3G, 3GS and iPod Touch 2G and firmware 3.x. I had to suspend its work this summer because of personal problems, but I’m back at work again to release the new version as soon as possible as it becomes usable (and will be updated to make it as stable as possible). Thanks for your patience.

Weather Icon brings instant weather information to jailbroken iPhones



Here’s something Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) could adopt. Just like you see the current day on the ever-fresh Calendar icon, we could also have such an icon for the Weather app. You would simply set the default location and the application would do the rest, changing its icon with the current weather conditions. Yap, this means in most cases you wouldn’t have to start the app at all!

Users of the jailbroken iPhones can do just that with a neat app called Weather Icon. Moreover, you can also set the application to display the current temperature on the status bar or even as a badge above the icon – very cool!

The thing that could also be included in the mix is automatic detection of your current location via GPS. However, even without that – Weather Icon rocks. Search for it in jailbroken app catalogs.

Kada se pre nekoliko meseci na internetu pojavio video koji prikazuje iPhone aplikaciju koja daljinski otključava i pali automobil, većina je mislila da se radi o lažnom snimku.

Ovih dana zvanično je predstavljena aplikacija za iPhone koja zaista omogućuje daljinsko upravljanje nekim funkcijama automobila, a zove se Viper SmartStart.

Aplikacija je besplatna, a korisnik samo treba da instalira hardverski modul u automobil i sve poveže sa iPhone uređajem.

Uz pomoć aplikacije moguće je kontrolisati pet osnovnih funkcija: paljenje automobila, kontrola klime, otključavanje vrata i prtljažnika i kontrola alarma.

Daljina sa koje je moguće upravljati pomenutim funkcijama je neograničena jer se sva komunikacija obavlja putem mobilne mreže.



Za ovaj sistem, koji je dostupan samo u Americi, potrebno je izdvojiti oko 300 dolara za modul koji se ugrađuje u automobil i 30 dolara za godišnju članarinu na uslugu.

Wolfenstein 3D for iPhone gets a Platinum update: Spear of Destiny levels and custom maps support!



Existing owners of the Wolfenstein 3D for iPhone, here’s a piece of good news for you. An updated version of the first person shooter classic for your favorite handset/iPod Touch has been released. Included in the mix are Spear of Destiny levels – 21 new maps, five new bosses and a new enemy type – ghosts. In addition — and this is where it gets really cool — now you can create and download custom-made maps, just like you could do it in a computer version of the game!
