YourTube 2.0 for iOS 4, iPhone 4 and iPad Now Available for Download. Includes iPod Import Feature


Finally! After a long wait, YourTube app has been updated to version 2.0, bringing full iOS 4.x support for jailbroken iOS devices including the support for iPhone 4 Retina Display and iPad. Not only can you now download YouTube  videos on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, but you can now also import all your downloaded video in iPod app seamlessly! This new feature is dubbed as “Gremlin” and will also be available later for other Cydia apps such as Safari Download Manager and Attachment Saver.



"YourTube 2.0 is newly re-designed for iOS 4. It includes a host of stability fixes, improved memory management, improved download speeds, and fixes for the nasty iOS 4 sandbox. And don’t forget the ability to import your downloaded videos into the iPod library."

YourTube 2.0 for iPhone / iPod touch and the updated version of YourTube HD for iPad are both available on Cydia. If you purchased YourTube version 1.0 after July 1st, you are entitled for a free upgrade. If you bought it before July, you are still entitled for a 80% discount. Upgrade from version 1.0 to 2.0 costs $1 only.

Genius Scan for iPhone is Truly Genius (Video)

Step Cal 1.21.1, the pedometer

A great opportunity to determine your running speed, amount of steps you´ve done reaching your working place, burned calories after a walk, was it the same as that piece of cake you´ve eaten before? Right now you can control these events with Step Cal…

Step Cal counts your steps and estimates the distance you walk. You can set your step length manually or have Step Cal guess it from your height. You can switch between English and metric measurement units by tapping on the "km/h" / "mph" label.

You can also set your weight and Step Cal will estimate the number of calories that you burn while walking or jogging.

If you wish, Step Cal will give you acoustic signals after a number of steps, a distance, a number of calories burned, or a time interval of your choice.

You can use the music player on your device at the same time as Step Cal.

The application has its own screen lock because normal screen lock will block the motion sensor of the device as well. For this reason, normal screen lock should not be used.

In order to get as accurate estimations as possible, keep the device close to your body, e.g., in your pockets. Although it works quite well even if you keep the device in your hands, results can degrade if you shake or turn the device. Step Cal has been optimized in order to provide as exact estimates as possible.

Please understand, however, that the accuracy of the estimates is limited. Estimates of step length and calories burned are according to statistical averages. The exact numbers depend on many individual factors which cannot be taken into account by an application that is easy to use. Thus, estimates may be not exact in your case.

HDR Camera Enabler Arrives on Cydia for iPhone 3GS and 3G on iOS 4.1

If the steps posted earlier were too difficult for you to follow, well you can now get HDR (High Dynamic Range) Photography feature on your jailbroken iPhone 3G and 3GS with a new tweak in Cydia which goes by the name of “HDR Camera Enabler”.


Enables the HDR Image Capture feature on iPhone 3GS that was only available on iPhone 4. Requires 4.1 and above. Thanks to @cdevwill for the find.

"HDR Camera Enabler” is available on Cydia under ModMyI repository for free. You will need to have iOS 4.1 to install this.

Turn Your iPhone Into an Animation Studio With the StopMotion App


We know how good the iPhone 4's camera is, but what else can it do besides snap pics? With the StopMotion app, makes some pretty kickass amateur stop motion movies. My own attempt was sad, but the app is powerful.
StopMotion works by laying out a viewfinder grid, allowing you to manipulate, bit by bit, whatever objects you're working with, keeping them more or less aligned. The app can either snap frames automatically (at adjustable intervals), or capture with a touch instead. (The app's dev told us a clap-activated feature is in the works, which sounds fantastic).



After capturing each frame, you're left with a 'ghosted' image of the previous one overlaid, making it easy to see how much or how little you wish to deviate, for varying smoothness of animation. If you mess up a frame, don't worry—you'll have the option of rotating or deleting it altogether after you're doing capturing. Once you're satisfied, send the video on its way through an impressive number of export options: email, YouTube, Twitter, or just to your camera roll.
