Ryan moves on


Ryan Smith has completed a permanent move to Southampton after a spell on loan at St Mary's.
Ryan's Millwall career has been blighted by injury restricting him to just 24 senior appearances since joining The Lions, initially on loan from Derby in March 2007.
Willie Donachie signed the former Arsenal winger on a permanent basis, but he failed to make the impact expected of him.
Ryan now has the chance to kick-start his career once more and manager Kenny Jackett wished him every success in his future career on the south coast.
Kenny also revealed that two other members of his squad would be leaving next week.
"Adam Bolder has been recalled by his manager at QPR, who wants to have a look at him," revealed the Lions boss.
"He can play in the Cup for us on Saturday before he returns and the same applies to Karl Moore, who returns to Manchester City.
I will assess the needs of the squad in terms of possible replacements, but we will only bring players in who can go straight into the side and improve it."

Kenny's comments

It was another frustrating day at The Den as goals from Marc Laird and Andy Frampton were matched by Crewe efforts from Dennis Lawrence and Dan Shelley.
It's a result which means both clubs have an interest in tomorrow's fourth round draw, but leaves Lions boss Kenny Jackett without a win in four games.
He said: "It would have been nice to put the tie away today but it wasn't to be. I actually think we played better than we have in the last few games - we had good possession and got some good balls in their box.
But I was disappointed with their goals because we didn't defend them well enough. For their second I wasn't happy with the way we set up to defend the free-kick. It looked like we left too much of a gap for Shelley to hit, and he smashed it in.
We're still in the fourth round draw though and that's good because the FA Cup is a competition we're very enthusiastic about. Another game creates interest and revenue and can help your season overall."
Alex boss Gudjon Thordarson clearly loved his return to English football and declared himself happy with the result.
He said: "I'd have taken a draw before the game so I'm happy. Millwall are a good team and the job is not finished. Anyone who thinks that is mistaken.
Millwall are a strong team and they will approach the game at our place differently so we will have to approach them differently."

Millwall's League One encounter with Cheltenham Town at Whaddon Road has fallen victim to the icy conditions.
A lunchtime pitch inspection on Friday by a local referee revealed that the sub zero nightime temperatures had left the playing surface frozen, and with more of the same forecast for Friday night, the decision was taken in consultation with the Football League to call the game off in good time to prevent inconvenience for supporters and the Millwall team.
Millwall MD Andy Ambler commented: "Whilst we're all disappointed the game is off, I'd like to thank Cheltenham Town and the Football League on behalf of our travelling fans for ensuring the inspection was done in good time to prevent everyone from making an unnecessary journey.
We will inform supporters of the re-arranged fixture date as soon as possible."
