To na keju su festivali hortikulture, pored kaktusa ima i drugih biljaka a niška sekcija DkS-a organizuje samostalne izložbe tokom proleča. Znači narednog proleča je IX izložba a za tačan termin čete biti blagovremeno obavešteni jer je još rano da odem do NKC-a da zakažem izložbu. Verovatno će to biti maja ili juna ali o tom potom...
Što se tiče rebutie rekao bih da je graciflora ali nisam siguran. Kakve cvetove ima? Imaš li neku veću sliku da postaviš?

Rebuciju sam nabavila ovog leta, malena je  i još nije cvetala. A pošto ima sličnih rebucija ne mogu precizno da odredim koja ja u pitanju.. Izgleda da ću morati da sačekam cvetiće 

Acanthocalycium

- The genus name "Acanthocalycium" derives from the Greek words “acantha (ακαναθα)” meaning “thorn, spine” plus the connective vowel “o” used in botanical Latin for Greek words and  “calyx” meaning “covering; calyx” referring to the flower buds (calyx) bearing hair and spines. (The genus name implies: “spiny calyx”).
The species name "glaucus" derives from the Greek word “Glaucos ( (γλαυκοζ )”   meaning "bright, gleaming; greyish, bluish-green”( The specific name implies: "glaucous" a white bloom giving a bluish-greyish  appearance)
- Morphology (Identifying  Characteristics):
Habit:It is a flat globular to shortly elongated  solitary cactus.
Stem:Up to 15 cm tall,8 cm in diameter; 8-14 rounded ribs;covered by a protective blue-grey layer of pruina.
Spines:Dark with a clear base, 5 to 10 radials to 2.5 cm. Central spines absent(occasionally 1 or 2)
Flower: Yellow or red and yellow flowers in summer, up to 6 cm long and in diameter.
Fruit: Dark green, globose, 2 cm in diameter.
Root: Tuberose root
Notes: The plant described as Acanthocalycium aurantiacum, now included in this taxon has red flowers with orange centres.
Cultivation:  It is a summer grower species that offers no cultivation difficulties.  Water regularly in summer (but do not overwater ) needs good drainage and very porous,  keep rather dry in winter. Feed with a high potassium fertilizer  in summer. It is quite frost resistant if kept dry (hardy to  -5° C) Outside full sun or afternoon shade, inside needs bright light, and some direct sun.
Propagation: Direct sow after last frost. (seldom produces offsets)

2. Acanthocalycium violaceum
- (K. Schumann) Backeberg 1935
- Argentina (Cordoba)
- Description: Solitary to slowly clumping.
Stem: Globular to elongate up to 60 cm tall, 15 cm in diameter.
Ribs: Numerous 16 to 20 acute;
Spines: 10 to 20 per areole, dense, thin, long, curved  honey-coloured.
Roots: Fibrous.
Flowers: A. spiniflorus flowers range from pink to white (4 cm to 7,5 cm in diameter) appear during late spring and summer, the form “violaciflorus” has lilac flowers. It starts blooming at around 6cm in diameter.
Cultivation: It is a summer grower species that offers no cultivation difficulties. Needs good drainage and very porous substrate,  Water regularly in summer (but do not overwater ). Wait for the well draining soil mixture to be rather dry before watering again. If it loses its roots, let the stem dry for a few days before replanting.. keep rather dry in winter. Feed with a high potassium fertilizer  in summer.
Although it is cold tolerant (hardy to -12° C for short periods), one should give it frost protection to prevent scarring. tolerates intense sun light and need a very bright exposure, full sun is indispensable to keep plant compact with strong spines.
Propagation: Direct sow after last frost although fairly slow, offsets (if available)

3. Acanthocalycium thionanthum
- (Spegazzini) Backeberg
- Argentina (Salta)
- A full sun exposure is indispensable to keep plant compact with strong and colourful spines. Without sun the stems elongate, remain green and don't form the characteristic powdery-grey coating.
Description: Usually solitary or slowly branching through basal shoots.
Stem: Spherical in time becomes slightly cylindrical, growing to a height of 12 cm or more, and a diameter of 6 to 10 cm. The epidermis is green to  dark blue grey and become clear powdery-grey in the older part of the stem (like some Copiapoa)
Ribs: About 9-15.
Areoles: At the apex of tubercles, at first are covered with yellowish-brown felt. The lower part of the areola is elongated while the upper part curves around the sides of the rib, more or less in the shape of a small shield. As the tubercles widen in the course of growth, the areoles become elliptical and almost glabrous.
Spines: 5 to 10 radial spines and 1 to 4 central spines, they are all more or less of the same length in a given plant (± 0,5 -3 cm.), but this species appears to be very variable about the length colour and number of spines in different population. They usually are black or light brown at first, becoming grey or whitish-yellow as they ages.
Flowers: Bell-shaped 5 cm. long or less on lateral areoles and the segments of the perianth are sulfur- or lemon-yellow (but also white, orange or red), They have very hairy bud, The floral tubes have brown-white hairs /bristles and dark spine-tipped scales,

- Description: E. peitscherianum are fairly slow growing   solitary cactus with 17-20  acute   ribs.
The he length of the spines is very variable and ranges from 1 to 6 cm (depending on population)
Cultivation: They are easy to cultivate and their soft pastel pink or white flowers (4cm or more) make them worth growing.  Frost hardy to -12/15° C for short periods.

E imam jedno pitanje... Imam kaktus koji je kada sam ga kupio bio debeo oko 1.5 cm... Sada je nastavio da raste brzo ali debljine moza 0.7cm... Kako mi sad snesno izgleda...  Sta je coveku?

Hobi mi je je gajenje kaktusa, imam kolekciju od oko 150 kaktusa (oko100vrsta). drago mi je sto mozemo da razmenjujemo iskustva i misljenja o nama dragim nam biljkama. Naravno odmah prvo pitanje, procvetao mi je Faucaria tigrina, da li on cveta uvek kasno u jesen, ili ovaj moj je tek sada stekao uslove pa se sada zajunachio?

Faucaria tigrina je ova biljčica sa žutim cvetom, poslednji red...i ona cveta u jesen
Kažu da voli direktno sunce, te da zemlja treba da se osusi izmedju dva zalivanja. Ako se previse zaliva navodno moze postati prevelika  Pogodna za gajenje u kuci, na osuncanim prozorima.

Makišon, mala ispravka, beehive je muško 
beehive, dobro došao o našu malu družinu. Samo... odmah moram da te kritikujem, tvoje biljke deluju vrlo anemične, naročito mamilarije a primetio sam i da je dosta njih proraslo. Izgleda da ih baš ne dohvataju sunčevi zraci. Kaži nam kakve im uslove pružaš leti a kakve zimi.
