APPIANO GENTILE - Part one of Roberto Mancini's pre-Inter v Roma news conference:

Mancini, how is Adriano ahead of tomorrow night's match?
"He was okay today, he trained yesterday and everything was fine. Will he play? Yes. I hope he's okay tomorrow. This is the most important thing."

Are three days of training with the squad enough for Juan Sebastian Veron to start tomorrow's match?
"Not to start, even though he has worked with the trainers for a long time and has been with the squad for four days. He will go on the bench and be ready to come on during the game if needed, but he's not fit enough to start from the first minute. I think he has thirty minutes in him."

Sinisa Mihajlovic is on the squad list. Has he recovered?
"Yes, but I don't think he can play."

Considering everything that's happening to Italian football, would winning this Tim Cup honestly be rewarding?
"We could also have won the league honestly... We could have thought about it a bit earlier and tried to do more because we had the chances to."

How much will next season be affected by all these negative things that are happening to Italian football at the moment?
"I don't know. We will see what happens, but I think we're only at the start. Something new emerges every day. It's better to wait and see how the situation evolves, and it doesn't seem that simple."

Were you expecting the referees to be involved so heavily?
"I don't know. That's why I say it's better to wait and see what happens."

MILAN - Inter beat Roma 3-1 at the Meazza to seal a 4-2 aggregate victory and keep the Coppa Italia in Milan for another year.

Esteban Cambiasso and Julio Cruz scored first-half goals to put Inter in total command, with Obafemi Martins adding the third after the restart before Nonda's late consolation for the Giallorossi.

Cambiasso fired Inter ahead after six minutes with a cracking 20-yard volley from Javier Zanetti's cross.

Roma custodian Doni kept out efforts from Adriano, and Cruz shot narrowly wide before the Argentine striker doubled in added time at the end of the first half.

Meeting a through ball from Stankovic, Cruz rounded Doni and slotted into an open net for his twentieth of the season.

With Roma needing to score twice, Luciano Spalletti made a switch early in the second half. The whole stadium applauded as Francesco Totti replaced Okaka Chuka to make his return to competitive football after an 81-day absence through injury.

The talismanic Totti went close to scoring midway through the half, firing inches wide from a Kharja cut-back.

But Inter dampened any hopes of a Roma comeback in the 77th minute when Obafemi Martins received short from Cruz in the area and rammed into an open goal with Doni stranded.

Nonda reduced the arrears three minutes later with a header from a Totti free kick, but Inter defended their two-goal lead in the final minutes to give the club its second consecutive domestic cup triumph.

Inter coach Mancini enters the record books as the first coach to win three Italian Cups in a row, and equals Sven Goran Eriksson's record of four Coppa successes.

MANCINI: "THEY'VE MESSED US AROUND"

APPIANO GENTILE - Part one of Roberto Mancini's pre-Cagliari v Inter news conference:

Mancini, in the past few years you have always spoken about the supposed anomalies in Italian football. What do you think now all these things have come out?
"I prefer not to talk about it yet. Something new emerges every day so it's not even that nice to talk about it."

Isn't it strange that Mancini was the only coach who exposed what wasn't going right in football?
"I'm not the only one. I believe Zeman has also said a few things... I honestly don't know what to say, but I don't think any of us thought it would go this far. I will ask you a question: how many Italians love football? Forty million? They've taken us all for a ride, they've been messing us around. Not just us who work in the game, but also all those who have gone to watch football. Not every team - there are teams and managers who have nothing to do with it."

One sports daily has speculated that Juventus could have several titles revoked, and that one could be given to Inter. Would this be morally right?
"When these things happen they usually deduct. But I honestly don't know what will happen. I have no idea, because something new emerges every day."

What was your feeling when you heard yesterday's news that Milan are involved in certain situations?
"I have already said that I prefer to wait and see what happens because there's something new every day. Fortunately the league has finished, otherwise it would have been difficult to continue. We need to see how it all ends, who is really involved and who isn't."

With what spirit will tomorrow's league matches be played?
"There won't even be spirit."

But if all the things printed in the papers are true, can we expect several teams to be relegated?
"I don't know. There are rules, now we have to wait and see how far it goes. To talk now is useless. The authorities will decide what to do."

There are rumours that tomorrow's match against Cagliari could be Roberto Mancini's last on the Inter bench. What can you tell us?
"But I have set a record... Jokes aside, I don't know. We will see. I honestly don't have the foggiest idea of what might or might not happen. You'll have to ask Moratti. No one can give you a better reply than him."

Wouldn't it been strange to sack a coach who has fought against a system which was clearly not working that well?
"I have done my job. Like I said, I don't know what will happen. I have done my best, a few things have gone well and others less well. But I honestly think I have done an excellent job. Inter have played well and the fans have enjoyed it even though there have been a few disappointments."

Would you be surprised if Inter didn't continue with you after the results and all that has happened in football recently?
"What can I say? I have a contract for next year but contracts don't count that much. It depends on Moratti."

Replying to a question about the future Inter coach, Massimo Moratti said yesterday: "I think we should continue and we will continue on the same path. Anyway, I have had matters outside football to deal with in these past days, and will do everything at the right moment with peace and quiet". What do you think about this?
"I honestly didn't hear Massimo Moratti's declarations, so I don't know how to interpret them. But there are only two days until the end of the season. Have a bit of patience."

Has Mancini sensed anything?
"I don't know. When they write things as precise as those written in these past days, I think they are true things. But I have no idea and I don't know what will happen in the coming days."

So Mancini is waiting?
"I'm going to the beach next week... Seriously though, for me it was a normal situation up to the past two days. But if they continue to write certain things the situation could change. Until I know for sure, I can't say what I will or will not do. I have no idea."

Part three of Roberto Mancini's pre-Cagliari v Inter news conference:

It has been said that Adriano could be reborn with the arrival of Fabio Capello at Inter. But you have always fielded the Brazilian. So why are they saying this thing?
"I hope he can revive himself, for his sake, but I don't think he has ever been dead. Adriano has always played, even if he hasn't played that well, but this can happen to a player. And these are things they say just for the sake of saying them."

Have you asked yourself why there wasn't much enthusiasm after winning the third trophy in a year?
"I think the Tim Cup is a big trophy. I don't know if there was enthusiasm or not, I think you need to savour and enjoy every victory, even the small ones. Besides the disappointment over other things, I genuinely enjoyed the Tim Cup triumph."

At the end of the day doesn't all this make Mancini want to leave Inter?
"No, because apart from what I have read, I know absolutely nothing. I believe Moratti has been busy with the Saras IPO so he has had more important things to think about lately. Inter is also important of course, but the decision to change or continue can always be made quickly in football. The Saras stock market listing is certainly more important."

What is your reply to the rumours about problems in the dressing room and relationships with several players?
"Not everyone can get on well in a dressing room with twenty-five players of different nationalities. But this happens everywhere, not just at Inter. As far as the technical aspect is concerned, we have lacked a bit in attack compared to our potential. But we have improved in defence because we have conceded the same number of goals as Juventus. We have lacked a bit in attack despite the many scoring chances created. But these are things that can happen in a season. Sometimes your strikers can be a bit out of sorts."

Is Inter's third place in the league fair?
"No, it's not fair because the league championships haven't been fair."

Mancini, the fans are still very fond of you. What do you think about this?
"Like I said, I don't know what will happen at the end of the season. You have been asking me questions for days and I have replied to you, but I really don't know what to say. I don't know if I will stay at Inter or not. If the club decides to change coach they can count on who they think best, but this should have nothing to do with me. If I leave, I hope to do so by leaving a good memory. But this happens everywhere. After many years at Lazio, for example, I left in a bit of a strange way, because many things were changing and I didn't want to remain in that situation. But I did a good job there, just like I have done at Inter. If it were to finish like this I would be pleased about having done a good job. But I also think that when a journalist changes newspaper he is pleased if he has left a good memory."

What do Inter need to make that definitive leap in quality?
"Firstly, to play a fair championship. I think this is fundamental. The most important thing for Inter and the other teams involved in this situation is to play in a championship with real rules that are respected by everybody. Also for the people who go and watch matches. However, I believe that Inter does lack something. We will see whether it's me to talk about it, or someone else."

Don't you have the feeling that Mancini can still give a lot to this Inter?
"I'm a coach, and when you do this job you know you can be changed at any time for a number of reasons. Some coaches are changed because they're not liked by the president, others because the president asks him to play a player who's not playing, others because the team is losing, and others because they say they don't get on with the players even if it's not true. There are various reasons, so if you do this job you must be prepared for anything at any time. I repeat: whoever does this job should know what his destiny might be. There are also coaches who decide to leave."

Would it annoy you if you were replaced by Fabio Capello?
"No. If this were to happen, Inter would have an extra fan. But I shouldn't have to look into what might happen or who could be the new coach."

Can you tell us your team to face Cagliari?
" Orlandoni, J. Zanetti , Cordoba, Samuel, Favalli or Wome, Solari, Veron, Pizarro, Kily González, Martins and Cruz should play. But I will be seeing the boys in a bit and I don't know who's okay and who's not, so the team could change. After today's Primavera (round of sixteen return leg) fixture a few youngsters will come to Cagliari with us, and could come on during the match."

samo inter nije umjesan od golemih klubova

Pa zato i ne osvajaju titule, kad su pošteni...

1.Kao ljubitelj fudbala osecam se  prevaren i ogorcen sam.Sve namestene utakmice i prvenstva od strane velikih.Zasto se ide nedeljom na stadione?Neka odluce odmah na pocetku sezone ko ce da pobedi i sa kojim rezultatima.Navijaci bukvalno ginu za svoje timove i idu na gostovanja,a trebalo je lepo da odu u bioskop.Manje se placa ulaznica a isto je napravljen scenario pre dogadjaja.Bar ne kisnes i ne mrznes se.
2.Kao navijac Intera,stvarno se nadam da nece,kao sto pricaju,da poniste pobednike prethodnih sezona i da odluce nove posle preracunavanja bodova namestenih utakmica.Nama takva osvajanja sezona ne trebaju.Samo neka njima dodaju ispod zvezdice natpis UKRADENO.Cak i ako se ispostavi da su odgovorni ljudi Intera ucestvovali u namestaljkama,svi navijaci Intera ce biti srecni da im vide ledja.

Ovo sto se desava je sramota za sport i  za fudbal.Vec se desio skandal sa kladjenjima krajem sedamdesetih,tacnije sezona 1979/80 i treceplasirani tim te sezone je zavrsio sa diskvalifikacijom i kaznom igranja u serie B,ali ovaj put cisto sumnjam da ce imati hrabrosti da tim sa najvise navijaca u Italiji kazne slicnom kaznom.I ovo me cudi da su imali hrabrosti da iznesu na videlo.

pa uvek je i bilo cudno kako ti Inter nikako da uzme titulu...a dva puta su je gubili u poslednjem kolu...
valjda ce napokon sledeca sezona biti srecna za sve navijace Intera...
