PocketShield is an intelligent locking/unlocking application. Prevents accidental touch on the phone screen specially when it is turned on not precisely by you.



Have you ever accidentally ignored an incoming call? Have you ever accidentally answered a call and left the caller 'talking with your pocket'? Features:
• Auto lock, no need to worry about locking, just turn off(sleep) your phone and feel confident.
• Screen auto-unlock when out of pocket, or when light available.
• Screen unlock by sliding finger or stylus from top towards down (vertical sliding rather that horizontal, for improved thumb ergonomics)
• Screen unlock with gestures, by moving the phone two times to the left or right. Sensitivity level is customizable.
•You can combine any of the 3 unlocking mechanisms: light auto-unlock, finger slide unlock, gesture unlock. One of the three must be enabled at least.
• Answer calls by gestures, or by any of the 3 unlocking mechanisms.
• Vibration feedback when you unlock or when phone auto-unlocks.
• Digital clock diplays the time. Digits can be customized.
• Screen shows caller name or number for incoming calls.
• Screen shows missed calls if any.
• Screen shows if a Reminder or Alarm has popped up.
• Subtle but precise battery indicator.
• Visible icons indicating which unlocking mechanisms are active.
• Disable auto unlock with light when doing "Start-->Lock". It is re-enabled after power off and resume. Useful for when you want to have your phone locked while ON, ie while listening music.
• Option(in Settings) to directly power off device when doing "Start-->Lock".
• Auto unlock when stylus is taken out.

Supported devices:
For the moment, it's only available for the HTC Touch Pro (aka Raphael) and HTC Touch Diamond. Not tested on Touch Viva, Touch 3G nor Touch HD!
For PocketShield to function properly, device must have an integrated light sensor and G-sensor(accelerometer).

Sad cemo da probamo 

Odlican je, mada me nervira sto ne moze biti integrisan u TodayAgenda, koji je za mene mnogo upotrebljiviji od SBSH PocketBreeze. Opet, tek juce se pojavio na trzistu, tako da verujem da ce developer TodayAgenda uskoro ubaciti podrsku za Calendar Touch. Jos jedna mana - ako se prilikom instalacije ne odabere opcija postavljanja Calendar Touch za default PIM, kasnije to nije moguce, tj. treba reinstalirati program... No, to su sitne zamerke, generalno zasad radi odlicno.

Inace, ovo je bivsi Papyrus.

Seeqpod Mobile available NOW - get it free for the next 48 hrs!



Seeqpod was supposed to release their Windows Mobile client 2 days ago, but their internet music streaming software seemed to have been slightly delayed.

A Quick Preview of IE 6 Mobile



The new version of Pocket Internet Explorer, IE 6 Mobile, will only be available on new Windows Mobile devices next year. Here we have a video preview here of IE6 running on a Touch HD, thanks to MoDaCo and a modified ROM. That said, installing a modified ROM can cause harm to your device if you don't know what you're doing, not to mention void your warranty, so we don't encourage it =D.

IE 6 Mobile still needs work, but is on the right track to be a good replacement for the aged PIE. It has support for Flash and AJAX, plus has a much improved rendering engine. If you want a better browser now, we recommend Skyfire (fastest, works with touchscreen and non-touchscreen devices) or Opera Mobile 9.5 (excellent page rendering but slower, touchscreen devices only). Both are free.

Vringo brings video ringtones to Windows Mobile



No matter what one thinks of the crazy frog, there is no doubt it was a phenomena, and many younger Windows Mobile users must have felt quite left out when the craze rolled over the continent.

A solution, which has been available for a while now, has just come to my attention again.  Vringo is a service which has a native Windows Mobile application, and allows for the uploading and downloading of video ringtones, and also with a small hack allows you to play any of your own videos in .3gp format.

You need to register with Vringo.com, where you will be able to download the Windows Mobile .cab. You can then use the software to preview and download video ringtones from a large selection.

To play your own video rename your .3gp video (less than 30 seconds long) to pre_vringo and copy it to My device/Application Data/Vringo, overwriting the previous file and restart the application.

The application does seem to have a problem with the phone canvas as found on the HTC Touch HD, but should work well on most phones.

Video Demo: MyHome Interface Replacement for Windows Mobile



As we reported earlier, SHBT, a software development company out of Hungary, has come up with a new interface for Windows Mobile touchscreen devices called MyHome, which is demoed in this video.

MyHome is basically a fusion of Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard sliding panels with the look of Windows Mobile 7 (that we've seen in screenshots). This is somewhat good news, considering that the sliding panel interface is a great way to access information and content typically buried within various WinMo programs.

The program, which is available for 19.95 Euros (that's around $26 - and a trial is available), is intuitive to use and looks great on a VGA screen. It's somewhat similar to the beloved Spb Mobile Shell (which costs $30) in that it's not a Today screen replacement - but rather a standalone program that you see when you turn on your device or exit programs. We wish that MyHome was a bit more customizable, and that it had a lower price. Even the weather functionality is an additional $8, bringing the total price for everything shown to about $34. Yikes.

Update: Two corrections...first, the weather software comes free with the purchase of MyhHome. Second, MyHome works with all screen resolutions including WQVGA and WVGA.
