Nokia E6 continues Nokia's business E series in style




Nokia promised to let us know what's new in the Symbian world and it did. More of the good old portrait QWERTY E-series in a single compact package with amazing battery performance and refined design: ladies and gents, that's the Nokia E6. The handset comes with VGA resolution – no ground-breaking feature by itself, but paired with the 2.46-inch screen of the E6 makes for a pixel density of 326ppi, which is nothing short of great. If you're into small screens that is.


The sleek new addition to the E series also features an LCD capacitive touchscreen, made of Gorilla Glass to protect it from scratches. The E6 is definitely not the lightest out there as it tips the scales at 4.69 ounces (133 grams) of weight, but it is relatively thin measuring 0.41 inches (10.5mm) in girth. The 1500mAh battery promises up to a month in stand-by time and some 14 hours of talk time. In terms of connectivity, you have pentaband 2G/3G support for a truly global device. Wi-Fi b/g/n as well as Bluetooth 3.0 are also on board.


But most excitingly – it features the latest iteration of Symbian with improved browsing performance and fresh looks. The release date is in Q2 2011 and the price tag stands at nearly $490 (340 euro). There is no information about U.S. carrier availability, but hopefully it will be subsidized by some as its expected to hit North American markets in Q3. Na prvi pogled: Nokia X7 i Nokia E6

Nakon predstavljanja za hrvatsko tržište, odlučili smo se poigrati s novim Nokijama koje će u trgovine doći početkom ljeta. Nokia X7 je drugi po redu uređaj finskog proizvođača sa zaslonom dijagonale 4.0", dok Nokia E6 predstavlja nasljednika vrlo popularnih i kvalitetnih modela E71 i E72, ovaj puta sa zaslonom na dodir.

Two MeeGo devices from Nokia coming



According to the recent news from multiple sources, there will be two MeeGo devices from Nokia coming very soon.

The first one is the one that could be seen on the video teaser that leaked recently, looking just like the last year's "N9" (and actually being it), with hardware keyboard. It will be based on the same processor as the N900 (Cortex-A8) but clocked at 1 GHz, and 512 MB of operating memory (RAM) + swap. The display is larger (4") and supports multitouch. This device will NOT be sold, it will be available to Maemo/MeeGo developers and supporters only. Some units will most probably be handed to attendees of the upcoming MeeGo Conference in San Francisco.

The second MeeGo model will be keyboard-less, but will be based on a considerably more powerful hardware, the same that will be used by Nokia in their future Windows Phone 7.5 smartphones: ST-Ericsson chipset including dual-core Cortex-A9 processor (can be clocked up to 1.2 GHz) and (probably) Mali-400 GPU (graphics accelerator). This model will also feature a 4" multitouch display, 512 MB or 1 GB RAM (+ swap), and will be available commercially, most probably within several weeks.

na zalost kolko vidim da je u nokiu e 6 stavljen slabasan procesor od 600 mghz, dakle debakl od samog pocetka. pa kako tako razmisljaju, koji poslovni covjek zeli da ceka da mu telefon pet minuta visi u limbu svaki put kad pritisne par tastera od jednom. to je tajna aple telefona, odmah reakcija na jedan dodir, ne cekanje i solidan ekran tj sve je solidno i ne cekas.

Unboxing the Nokia X7



The Nokia X7 is one of the first of Nokia’s handsets to arrive with Symbian Anna, the revamped version of Symbian^3 OS. Nokia’s new-look platform delivers a speedier web browser, a portrait onscreen QWERTY and, a much-needed lick of paint. Asides from its re-jigged OS, the Nokia X7 houses a 4-inch AMOLED ClearBlack touchscreen, coated in Gorilla Glass for scratch and tumble protection. The handset also touts 4 external speakers within its steel-esque casing, proving the ultimate companion for media fanatics.

Nokia Windows Phone 7 devices released in Europe first?



Folks in the US might be in for a disappointment if the following rumors turn out to be true. According to some reports online, the vice president of Nokia Europe mentioned that Nokia’s first Windows Phone 7 devices will be released in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK first; later this year. However, a Nokia spokeswoman, Anna Martin, refused to confirm his comments about the release of the first Nokia WP7 phones.

If this is true, that means US consumers won’t be the first to get their hands on Nokia WP7 phones – which is understandable, given Nokia’s presence in Europe compared to the US, but it’s quite odd that the phone won’t be launched in Finland, Nokia’s home country. This could mean that the VP forgot to mention Finland, or Finland is not part of the launch. But regardless of where they launch first, I’m sure everybody is just looking forward to find out what the new WP7 phones will be like.
