Wolves' Griffin in hot water again

The Minneapolis Police Department is investigating whether two officers neglected to issue a ticket for suspected drunken driving to Eddie Griffin, who crashed into a parked car in March.

In 911 transcripts obtained by the Star Tribune, several callers at the accident scene described forward Eddie Griffin as being drunk, and a dispatcher informed the officers that the driver of the vehicle "possibly was intoxicated." Griffin was cited for no driver's license and inattentive driving, the police report said. His sport-utility vehicle was then towed to the impound lot.

Dolan says Isiah has one year to fix Knicks

James Dolan met with beat writers on Monday and said that Isiah Thomas will be given one year to get the Knicks heading in the right direction.

"I'm saying this right with Isiah here. This is his team," Dolan said. "He made this bed. There's nobody better than him to make this thing go forward...At this time next year Isiah will be with us if we can all sit here and say that this team has made significant progress towards its goal of eventually becoming an NBA championship team. If we can't say that, then Isiah will not be here." Dolan has been silent for months while Larry Brown was left wiggling until finally being let go last Thursday.

Villanueva to be traded for a top pick?

The Toronto Star is reporting that the Raptors could end up with another top-10 pick in addition to the first overall selection in Wednesday's draft by trading Charlie Villanueva.

The idea would be to come away from this draft with Andrea Bargnani or LaMarcus Aldridge and one of the top guards (Brandon Roy, Rudy Gay, Marcus Wiliams, Randy Foye). It sounds like a longshot to us, but there are those in Toronto who think Villanueva may struggle to maintain intensity and focus for a full season.

The skinny: It's hard to believe Redick could slip this far.

But it's quite possible that if he gets past Houston at No. 8, the Magic at No. 11 and the Jazz at No. 14, he could be in for a slide, for several reasons. Most of the teams selecting below the Jazz haven't worked him out, he doesn't fit a need for most teams and concerns about his back injury will scare teams away from being adventurous.

At No. 22, though, he's a no-brainer for a Nets team that's in constant need of a big-time shooter.

If Redick is gone, P. J. Tucker is a real possibility.
