Apple has been very consistent with the iPhone screen size - 3.5 inches and that's it. Of course, four iterations of equally-sized display didn't discourage the bigger iPhone or iPhone nano rumors. The latest in the series is a photo of an alleged iPhone 5 screen digitizer, which shows a much thinner bezel around the screen.
Now, a thinner bezel is great - it lets you do things like keep the screen size but shrink the phone or keep the phone size and upsize the screen. Or you change both measurements, of course.



Assuming the width of the phone hasn't changed (judging by Steve Jobs' past statements this seems the more likely option) we can try to guesstimate the display size. After some measurements and some math we ended up with just under 3.9" for the iPhone 5 screen diagonal, with should allow a margin of error because of the angle at which the photo of the digitizer was taken.
This seems pretty close to the rumor of a 4-inch screen for the fifth-gen iPhone. Or if we follow the iPhone mini rumor, then a 3.5" screen can fit into a pretty small phone. There are mockups of both versions floating around the net - you shouldn't put too much stock into them, but they should give you a general idea of what to expect.



All this guesswork could have been avoided if the person who took the photo had a ruler on them. Anyway, what would you prefer - same size iPhone with bigger screen, or same size screen with smaller iPhone?
Either way, the iPhone 5 should be official this June (Apple keeps to their product schedule). Aside from the screen, the 5 is rumored to have a dual-core Apple A5 CPU, better graphics and NFC.

iPad 2: A Completely New Beast




The iPad 2 is here. With a faster A5 processor, more memory and two cameras—one frontal for FaceTime videoconferencing—all packed in a "completely new design", thinner and lighter than the first. It's a completely new beast. Here are all the details you need to know about Apple's tablet.


The hardware

Contrary to the rumors, the new iPad 2 has been improved a lot internally. Faster processor, faster graphics, HDMI Full HD output, the 720p HD camera on the back, the frontal VGA camera... it's quite a new beast.

The good

• Dual-core 1GHz A5 processor, which is "up to two times faster" than the previous version, Steve says.
• The graphics have been improved too. The GPU goes at nine times the speed as before.
• Same low power consumption as the A4.
• Built-in cameras for photos and video: One for frontal FaceTime videoconferencing and Photobooth (VGA resolution) and one on the back with 720p HD video capability.
• It also has a built-in gyroscope, like the iPhone 4.
• They claim the battery life is 10 hours, like before, with a one month stand-by time.
• HDMI mirrored video output at 1080p Full HD (the cable costs $39).

The bad

The only thing that remains the same is the 9.7-inch 1024 x 768-pixel IPS display. We were all looking to a higher pixel density, but that will have to wait till the next generation.


The design

This thing is really sexy. Thinner than the iPhone 4 and 33% thinner than the current iPad. That's going from 13.4mm (more than a centimeter) to 8.8 millimeters. For reference, the iPhone 4 is 9.3 millimeters. The weight is going down too: From 1.5 pounds to 1.3 pounds. It also comes in two colors, black and white, "shipping from day one".




When and how much?

The new iPad will come on March 11 to the US, and the 3G model will be available on both AT&T and Verizon networks. Internationally, the intro date will be March 25 in 26 countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, United Kingdom and Spain.

The prices will remain exactly the same across the whole line. The Wi-Fi model will come for $499, $599, and $699 for the 16, 32 and 64GB models. The 3G takes that to $629, $729, and $829.

Apple iOS 4.3 Brings New AirPlay Features and Faster Safari Browsing




Apple just announced iOS 4.3 and it'll be available for download on March 11. It'll bring the Nitro Javascript engine from Safari on OS X, iTunes Home Sharing which'll let you play content over Wi-Fi, and new AirPlay features (App Store apps can use Airplay now). iPad users will get to use FaceTime for the first time and GSM iPhone 4s finally get the Personal Hotspot feature. Pretty much everything we've heard about already. iOS 4.3 will be available as a free download for iPhone 4 GSM, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 3rd generation and 4th generation and iPad on March 11th (same day iPad 2 comes out).

Motorola je skoro predstavila xoom tablet za 800$ koji bi trebao da bude konkurencija iPad-u, i pored cene ima jos jedan nedostatak a to je i izbor aplikacija, iPad ih ima 65000 dok honeycomb ih ima ladno 100   

E to je vec nesto sasvim drugo. iPad 2 moze da bude koristan dodatak laptop-u.
