Volkswagen želi u F1




Proizvođač iz Wolfsburga potvrdio je svoje namere o ulasku u F1. Volkswagen bi 2013. godine hteo da postane dobavljač motora, a ne vlasnik tima poput Ferrarija i Mercedesa.

Ove tvrdnje izneo je Hans-Joachim Stuck, bivši F1 vozač, a danas Volkswagenov sportski predstavnik. On je u intervjuu Auto Bildu izjavio kako je "jasno da je Volkswagen zainteresovana za Formulu 1" i da se čeka odluka FIA-e o upotrebi tzv. "svetskog motora".

Postoji mogućnost da se od 2013. godine u upotrebi nađe 4-cilindrični turbo motor od 1500 ccm uparen sa KERS-om, čiji se povratak očekuje sledeće godine. O proizvođaču ovog motora tek treba da bude donesena odluka.

Practice One - McLaren set Spanish standard

McLaren's Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button said they hoped for dry conditions here, and they got them in the first session of practice for this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix. The 2008 world champion lapped his McLaren MP4-25 half a second faster than his team mate, 1m 21.134s to 1m 21.672s, and the only man who got anywhere near them was Michael Schumacher, who lapped straight away in 1m 21.716s when he went out in his revamped Mercedes.

Then came the Red Bulls of Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel, virtually inseparable on 1m 22.011s and 1m 22.026s, with Nico Rosberg hard on their heels with 1m 22.070s in the other Mercedes.

Robert Kubica and Vitaly Petrov also went well for Renault, sandwiching Fernando Alonso's Ferrari in seventh and ninth places. Kubica lapped in 1m 22.202s, Alonso in 1m 22.258s and the Petrov in 1m 22.397s.

With Felipe Massa 12th on 1m 22.975s it's safe to say Ferrari were doing their usual Friday thing of not pursuing outright lap times.

Kamui Kobayashi completed the top 10 for BMW Sauber with 1m 22.492s, but team mate Pedro de la Rosa was out of luck after his car stopped at the end of what should have been his first flying lap and he never got out of the pits thereafter so did not record a time.

Sebastien Buemi was back in the groove with 1m 22.588s for 11th place for Toro Rosso, then Paul di Resta showed well for Force India with 1m 23.030s for 13th ahead of Jaime Alguersuari on 1m 23.110s in the second Toro Rosso and Vitantonio Liuzzi in the second Force India on 1m 23.284s. The Williams FW32s of Rubens Barrichello and Nico Hulkenberg were 16th and 17th, the German coasting to halt with possible engine failure after they had posted 1m 23.312s and 1m 23.471s respectively.

Heikki Kovalainen showcased the progress that Mike Gascoyne promised at Lotus with 1m 25.329s for 18th, ahead of team mate Jarno Trulli on 1m 26.244s, the Virgins of Timo Glock and Lucas di Grassi on 1m 26.340s and 1m 26.694s respectively, and Christian Klien's return to active Formula One duty in Karun Chandhok's HRT saw him half a second faster with 1m 27.250s than team mate Bruno Senna, who lapped his F110 in 1m 27.752s.

There were a few incidents; De la Rosa spun, Senna, Rosberg, Vettel and Kovalainen all had brief off-road moments, and Button ran over some debris exiting the pits.

Practice Two - Red Bull run riot in Barcelona

Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber dished out a stern warning to their rivals at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya on Friday afternoon when, on a bone dry, track they dominated the second session of practice. Webber set the pace for much of the session, lapping eventually in 1m 20.175s, until Vettel slammed round in 1m 19.965s. He was the only man to breach the 1m 20s barrier.

Confirming the morning’s indications that the new long-wheelbase version of the Mercedes MGP W01 suits him nicely, Michael Schumacher looked far more like his dangerous old self as he punched in a 1m 20.757s lap to resist a late challenge from Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso, who managed 1m 20.819s for fourth overall.

The McLarens were not so fleet this afternoon, relative to their opposition, and Lewis Hamilton had to be content with 1m 21.191s for fifth, just ahead of an increasingly menacing Robert Kubica who took his Renault round in 1m 21.202s to head Mercedes GP’s Nico Rosberg (1m 21.271s), Ferrari’s Felipe Massa (1m 21. 302s), McLaren’s Jenson Button (1m 21.364s), Force India’s Adrian Sutil (1m 21.518s), BMW Sauber’s Pedro de la Rosa (1m 21.672s), Force India’s Vitantonio Liuzzi (1m 21.904s and BMW Sauber’s Kamui Kobayashi (1m 21.931s).

Those anxious to discover the ‘real’ pecking order after the first four races now had a pretty reasonable idea, despite it being a Friday…

Sebastien Buemi was 14th for Toro Rosso with 1m 22.184s ahead of Williams’s Rubens Barrichello on 1m 22.192s and off-coursing Vitaly Petrov in 1m 22.435s in the second Renault, while Buemi’s team mate Jaime Alguersuari managed 1m 22.449s before spinning off in Turn Seven late in the session with possible technical problems.

Nico Hulkenberg was down to 1m 23.765s when he went off and damaged his Williams slightly. That brought out the red flags for a few minutes as a damaged tyre barrier was repaired and left him 18th.

Further evidence of Lotus’s improved performance came as Jarno Trulli lapped his T127 in 1m 24.209s, with team mate Heikki Kovalainen next up on 1m 24.894s.

Lucas di Grassi was the faster Virgin this time with 1m 25.066s, ahead of the HRTs of Karun Chandhok (1m 25.972s) and Bruno Senna (1m 26.152s), while Timo Glock brought up the rear after a troubled session, with 1m 26.596s.

Ferrari bez bar koda




Ferrari je modifikovao svoju „odoru“ u sred optužbi da bar kod na automobilu predstavlja podsvesnu reklamu za Marlboro, a znamo da je reklamiranje duvanskih proizvoda zabranjeno u Formuli 1.

Ove nedelje je Ferrari žestoko odacio teze da je „brendiranje“ automobila urađeno u cilju promovisanja Marlboroa, proizvoda glavnog sponzorskog partnera, Philip Morrisa. Ipak, otkriveno je da će na automobilu na VN Španije automobil poneti nacrt u vidu pravougaonika, oivičen belom bojom.

Na svom veb sajtu, tim je postavio zvaničnu izjavu: „Zajedno sa Philip Morris Internationalom smo odlučili da modifikujemo reklamu na našim automobilima, počevši sa trkom u Barseloni. Ova odluka je donesena u cilju uklanjanja bilo kakvih spekulacija koje se tiču „bar koda“, čije pristustvo nije bilo sa intencijom da se reklamira marka cigareta. Na ovaj način želimo da stavimo tačku na ovu besmislenu priču i koncentrišemo se na važnije stvari od ovakvih neosnovanih tvrdnji.“
