SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFPN) -- U.S. Central Command Air Forces officials have released the airpower summary for July 7.

In Afghanistan July 6, Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt IIs and a B-1 Lancer provided close-air support for coalition forces taking small-arms and rocket-propelled grenade fire from Taliban extremists near Asadabad. The A-10s expended a general-purpose 500-pound bomb on the extremists' location, ending the engagement.

In a separate engagement, A-10s, B-1s and an MQ-1 Predator unmanned aerial vehicle provided close-air support for coalition forces taking small-arms and rocket-propelled grenade fire from Taliban extremists near Deh Rawood. The Predator expended a Hellfire missile on the extremists' location, ending the engagement.

B-1s and Royal Air Force Harrier GR-7s also provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with enemy forces near Gereshk and Musah Qal'eh.

Additionally, seven U.S., French and Royal Air Force intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or ISR, aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Afghanistan.

In total, coalition aircraft flew 28 close-air-support missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. These missions included support to coalition and Afghan troops, reconstruction activities and route patrols.

In Iraq, Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with anti-Iraqi forces near Taji and Salman Pak.

Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcons also provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with anti-Iraqi forces near Al Mahmudiyah.

Additionally, 12 Air Force, Navy and Royal Air Force ISR aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Iraq .

In total, coalition aircraft flew 42 close-air-support missions for Operation Iraqi Freedom. These missions included support to coalition troops, infrastructure protection, reconstruction activities and operations to deter and disrupt terrorist activities.

On July 5, Air Force rescue and medical crews on HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopters flew four medical evacuation missions in support of OEF. Two U.S. military members and three Afghan National Army members with injuries requiring urgent care were evacuated as a result of these missions.

Air Force C-130 Hercules and C-17 Globemaster IIIs provided intra-theater heavy airlift support, helping sustain operations throughout Afghanistan, Iraq and the Horn of Africa. They flew 140 airlift sorties, delivered 400 tons of cargo and transported 1,350 passengers. This included nearly 17,200 pounds of troop resupply airdropped in central and eastern Afghanistan.

Coalition C-130 crews from Australia, Canada and Korea flew in support of either OIF or OEF.

On July 5, U.S., French and Royal Air Force tankers flew 42 sorties and off-loaded almost 2.6 million pounds of fuel.

SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFPN) -- U.S. Central Command Air Forces officials have released the airpower summary for July 6.

In Iraq July 5, Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with anti-Iraqi forces near Salman Pak.

Additionally, 13 Air Force, Navy, Australian and Royal Air Force intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or ISR, aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Iraq.

In total, coalition aircraft flew 46 close-air support missions for Operation Iraqi Freedom. These missions included support to coalition troops, infrastructure protection, reconstruction activities and operations to deter and disrupt terrorist activities.

On July 4, Air Force rescue and medical crews on HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopters flew one medical evacuation mission in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. It transported one Canadian military member with injuries requiring urgent care.

Air Force C-130 Hercules and C-17 Globemaster IIIs provided intra-theater heavy airlift support, helping sustain operations throughout Afghanistan, Iraq and the Horn of Africa. They flew 160 airlift sorties, delivered 320 tons of cargo and transported 2,380 passengers.

Coalition C-130 crews from Australia, Canada, Japan and Korea flew in support of either OIF or OEF.

Also, Air Force A-10s provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with Taliban extremists near Oruzgan. The A-10s dropped general purpose 500-pound bombs and conducted several strafing passes, expending cannon rounds on enemy positions and ending the engagement. An Air Force B-1 also provided close-air support to coalition troops.

Air Force A-10s also provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with enemy forces near Asadabad and Khowst.

An Air Force B-1B provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with enemy forces near Gereshk.

Additionally, six Air Force and French Air Force ISR aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Afghanistan.

In Afghanistan, Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt IIs and a B-1B Lancer provided close-air support to coalition troops taking small arms and rocket-propelled grenade fire from Taliban extremists in the vicinity of Oruzgan. The B-1B expended four joint direct attack munitions on an enemy compound, destroying it.

In a separate engagement, an MQ-1 Predator unmanned aerial vehicle conducted a precision strike against an enemy sniper position in the vicinity of Kandahar. The Predator expended a Hellfire missile on the sniper's location, ending the engagement.

Air Force A-10s and French Air Force M-2000s provided close-air support for coalition forces taking small arms and rocket-propelled grenade fire from Taliban extremists in the vicinity of Qalat.

Air Force A-10s also provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with enemy forces near Gereshk.

Additionally, seven Air Force, French Air Force and Royal Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, or ISR, aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Afghanistan.

In total, coalition aircraft flew 24 close-air-support missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. These missions included support to coalition and Afghan troops, reconstruction activities and route patrols.

In Iraq, Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcons provided close air support to coalition troops in contact with anti-Iraqi forces in the vicinities of Al Hawijah and Al Mahmudiyah.

Additionally, 15 Air Force, U.S. Navy and Royal Air Force ISR aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Iraq .

In total, coalition aircraft flew 42 close-air-support missions for Operation Iraqi Freedom. These missions included support to coalition troops, infrastructure protection, reconstruction activities and operations to deter and disrupt terrorist activities.

Approximately 150 airlift sorties were flown; almost 400 tons of cargo were delivered, and some 2,440 passengers were transported. Additionally, 11 Air Force and Navy ISR aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Iraq.

In total, coalition aircraft flew 34 close-air support missions for Operation Iraqi Freedom. These missions included support to coalition troops, infrastructure protection, reconstruction activities and operations to deter and disrupt terrorist activities.

The aircraft flew approximately 140 airlift sorties, delivered almost 230 tons of cargo and transported nearly 2,900 passengers. This included more than 12,500 pounds of troop re-supply airdropped in eastern Afghanistan.

Air Force C-130 Hercules and C-17 Globemaster IIIs provided intra-theater heavy airlift support, helping sustain operations throughout Afghanistan, Iraq and the Horn of Africa. They flew 160 airlift sorties, delivered almost 570 tons of cargo and transported 3,560 passengers. This included more than 29,000 pounds of troop re-supply airdropped in central and eastern Afghanistan.

SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFPN) -- U.S. Central Command Air Forces officials have released the airpower summary for July 18.

In Afghanistan July 17, Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt IIs, a B-1B Lancer, a Predator unmanned aerial vehicle and Royal Air Force GR-7s provided close-air support for coalition troops in contact with anti-coalition forces near Tarin Kowt. The aircraft expended general purpose 500-pound bombs, rockets and cannon rounds against enemy troop positions, ending the engagement.

Air Force A-10s and a B-1B provided close-air support for coalition troops in contact with anti-coalition forces near Gereshk. The A-10s expended cannon rounds on a rocket-propelled grenade launch site, ending the engagement.

A B-1B provided close-air support for coalition troops in contact with anti-coalition forces near Qalat. The B-1B expended guided bomb unit-38s, ending the engagement.

Air Force A-10s and a B-1B also provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with enemy forces near Musa Qal'eh.

Additionally, seven Air Force and French Air Force intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or ISR, aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Afghanistan.
In total, coalition aircraft flew 29 close-air support missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. These missions included support to coalition and Afghan troops, reconstruction activities and route patrols.

In Iraq, Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcons conducted a strike against anti-Iraqi forces placing an improvised explosive device near Baqubah. The aircraft strafed the terrorists, ending the engagement.

Air Force F-16s also provided close-air support to troops in contact with anti-Iraqi forces near Kirkuk, and Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles and F-16s provided close-air support to troops in contact with anti-Iraqi forces near Basrah.

Additionally, 14 Air Force, Navy and Royal Air Force ISR aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Iraq.

In total, coalition aircraft flew 43 close-air support missions for Operation Iraqi Freedom. These missions included support to coalition troops, infrastructure protection, reconstruction activities and operations to deter and disrupt terrorist activities.

Air Force C-130 Hercules and C-17 Globemaster IIIs provided intra-theater heavy airlift support, helping sustain operations throughout Afghanistan, Iraq and the Horn of Africa. They flew 160 airlift sorties, delivered more than 600 tons of cargo and transported 2,300 passengers. This included more than 47,200 pounds of troop re-supply airdropped in southern and eastern Afghanistan.

Coalition C-130 crews from Australia, Canada and Japan flew in support of either OIF or OEF.

On July 16, Air Force and French tankers flew 40 sorties and off-loaded almost 2.5 million pounds of fuel.

CENTAF releases air power summary

SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFPN) -- U.S. Central Command Air Forces officials have released the airpower summary for July 19.

In Afghanistan July 18, Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt IIs and a B-1 Lancer provided close-air support for coalition troops taking small arms fire near Musah Qal'eh. An A-10 expended guided bomb unit-12s on enemy positions, ending the engagement.

In a separate engagement also near Musah Qal'eh, Air Force A-10s and a B-1 provided close-air support for coalition troops taking small arms and sniper fire. The B-1 expended a GBU-38 on an enemy sniper position, ending the engagement.

Air Force A-10s, a B-1B and Royal Air Force GR-7s provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with enemy forces near Lashkar Gah. The B-1 expended GBU-38s on the enemy positions, ending the engagement.

Air Force A-10s also provided close-air support to troops in contact with anti-coalition forces near Asadabab and Ghazni, and a B-1 provided close-air support to troops in contact with anti-coalition forces near Tarin Kowt.

Additionally, eight Air Force, French Air Force and Royal Air Force intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or ISR, aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Afghanistan.

In total, coalition aircraft flew 25 close-air support missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. These missions included support to coalition and Afghan troops, reconstruction activities and route patrols.

In Iraq, Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcons provided close-air support for coalition troops taking small arms fire near Baghdad, Basra and Tall Afar.

Additionally, 14 Air Force, Navy and Royal Air Force ISR aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Iraq.

In total, coalition aircraft flew 44 close-air support missions for Operation Iraqi Freedom. These missions included support to coalition troops, infrastructure protection, reconstruction activities and operations to deter and disrupt terrorist activities.

On July 17, Air Force rescue and medical crews on HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopters flew two medical evacuation missions in support of OEF. They transported six U.S. and three Australian military members with injuries requiring urgent care.

Air Force C-130 Hercules and C-17 Globemaster IIIs provided intra-theater heavy airlift support, helping sustain operations throughout Afghanistan, Iraq and the Horn of Africa. They flew approximately 160 airlift sorties, delivered almost 470 tons of cargo and transported 2,630 passengers. This included 19,180 pounds of humanitarian civil assistance in central Afghanistan.

Coalition C-130 crews from Australia, Canada, Japan and Korea flew in support of either OIF or OEF.

On July 17, Air Force, French Air Force and Royal Air Force tankers flew 39 sorties and off-loaded almost 2.4 million pounds of fuel.
