Verizon iPhone 4 Suffers From 'Death Grip' and 'Death Hug'


While performing tests on the new Verizon iPhone 4, iLounge discovered that it suffers from the 'Death Grip' as well as the 'Death Hug'.

The CDMA iPhone 4 can still lose substantial cellular signal strength when held in the prior "death grip" position, as well as Wi-Fi signal when held in a different position, in each case noticeably slowing or completely stalling the reception of data.

The problem with Wi-Fi reception appears when the device is held snugly in landscape orientation with two hands, a position common when playing games or using the widescreen keyboard. Prior to the Verizon iPhone 4's launch, sources told iLounge to be on the lookout for the issue, which was being referred to as the "death hug."

Apple iPhone 5 could be delayed to September. iPad 2 “not delayed”

Whether it will be called iPhone 5 or not, a new iPhone is going to be introduced by Apple later this year.

Looking at the launch dates of the previous four iPhone models, we could say the new Apple smartphone will be released in June or July. But maybe that won’t be the case this year.

According to Business Insider, which quotes FBR Capital Markets analyst Craig Berger, Apple seems to be facing some problems with hardware suppliers (including casing, touch panel, and chip suppliers), which may not be ready to ship components in due time.

As such, the analyst believes “a September launch is more likely.” Of course, there’s no way to confirm this at the moment.

As previously rumored, the iPhone 5 could have a 4 inch display, and a dual-core processor. These enhanced features (never seen in an Apple smartphone before) do make sense, as the Cupertino company certainly doesn’t want its new handset to be bested by the latest Android smartphones, like the LG Optimus 2X, Motorola Atrix, or Samsung Galaxy S II.



Recently, there have been also rumors about a possible delay of the new iPad 2. However, Reuters has it that this is not true, relying on info received from an anonymous source “familiar with the matter.”

This being said, we could see the new iPad announced as soon as April. We’ll bring more details as they become available.

Sinoc mi ispadne telefon na beton pa se odbije i udari u zid i naravno prizemlji se opet na beton... E sad-nesto mi zvecka u gornjem delu telefona,nista strasno ali zvecka i nervira me a sve radi ok... Nemam bumper ali imam neke karbon folije na njemu koje su bas dobre iz usa sam narucio i ne mogu da vidim da le je nesto puklo jer samo displej nije prekriven folijom a on je prosao bez ogrebotine... Ne znam da li da ga otvaram da vidim sta to zvecka ili da zaboravim i ostavim tako...?

Ako se ne cuje jako, vec samo kada ga drzis pored uveta i lupkas malo telefon, onda to je normalno i mislim da se cuje mehanizam za vibraciju.
Mozes i da ga otvoris ako imas dobar mali srafciger jer na iP4 imas samo ona dva mala srafa dole koja treba da skines i gurnes zadnju masku na gore malo i posle mozes da je skines, nije uopste komplikovano.

Sve zivo sam probao i radi odlicno pa mozda necu da ga otvaram... Pazi cuje se kad lupkam telefon sa zadnje strane,ne moram da ga priblizim uvetu da bi cuo ali cim predjem od pola telefona na dole kad lupkam ne cuje se sto znaci da je gore kod slusalice nesto. Da bi ga otvorio moram bi da skinem foliju koja je stvarno odlicna a to mi se ne radi nikako a nadam se da zadnje staklo ili nesto sa strane nije puklo...

4G iPhone won’t arrive until 2012 according to analyst



It’s the year 2011, 4G is the “in” thing and everybody seems to be hopping onto the bandwagon this year. Well, everybody except Apple. According to an analyst from Telecom Pragmatics, Sam Greenholtz, the iPhone 5 that will be launching later this year, will not pack any LTE radios and that the iPhone 6 (which will be released in 2012) will be the one supporting LTE instead. According to another analyst, when Apple locked down the specs for the iPhone 5, they didn’t expect this level of hardware competition. Sounds like a reasonable explanation, but if past iPhone models are of any reference to how Apple designs their phones – the exclusion of 4G this year might have been done on purpose. Well, the year is still young and you can expect a lot more iPhone 5 rumors to surface before we actually get the real deal, so stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted.
