NPD Group, koja inače redovno sastavljaju nedeljnu listu najprodavanijih igara, su sumirali sve cifre, i saopštili su rezultat: Activision je, na osnovu ostvarenog uspeha u prvih 11 meseci tekuće godine, najuspešniji od svih izdavačkih kuća u SAD. Tržišni udeo su povećali za 16.8%, što je za 7.9% više nego prošle godine. Iskreno, nije ni čudo pored naslova kao što su Guitar Hero III i Call of Duty 4. Mi im čestitamo i želimo uspeh i u sledećoj godini.

Gothic 4 screenovi nisu zvanični

JoWood, izdavačka kuća koja je vlasnik licence za distribuiranje Gothic serijala, izdala je obaveštenje čime upozoravaju da screenovi iz četvrtog nastavka te igre, koji su se u poslednje vreme pojavili, zapravo nisu zvanični. Kako oni kažu, screenove uopšte nisu izdali, i negiraju svaku vezu sa njima i tvrde da stvarni izgled igre daleko prevazilazi ono što sporne slike prikazuju. Sreća u nesreći, reklo bi se.

Američki razvojni studio/izdavačka kuća Take-Two koji je, kao što već sigurno znate, Rockstar Gamesa i 2K Gamesa, otvorili su novi studio u Kaliforniji i nazvali ga 2K Marin. Oni će, u saradnji sa ostalim 2K ekipama, biti zaduženi za razvoj novih franšiza, ali i za nastavljanje postojećih. Inače, 2K već ima studije u Aziji, Evropi, Australiji i Severnoj Americi.

PC LAN Patch Notes – December, 2007
===================================

This patch adds LAN (Local Area Network) play to the PC version of Need for Speed ProStreet.

LAN Play Overview:

This patch introduces multiplayer game play in a standalone LAN environment. Up to 32 games of 2-8 players per game are supported. The patch has two components:
- Updated ProStreet game client
- New ProStreet LAN Server


IMPORTANT:
- ProStreet PC LAN Game Server is a separate application that must be started before attempting to use LAN Play.
- Run one server only per LAN. Only one ProStreet PC LAN Game Server is required per LAN. Each server can host up to 32 games.


ProStreet Game Client
===================================

Prerequisite: The PC LAN Game Server MUST be running on one PC connected to the LAN before selecting LAN in the ProStreet game. See below for instructions on how to start up a PC LAN Game Server.

LAN Game play option can be found on the main menu.

Step 1) PC LAN Game Server Auto-Discovery

When LAN is selected, ProStreet will automatically discover and connect to the LAN Game Server running on the LAN.

If not found automatically, the player is presented with a screen to manually enter the IP Address of the PC LAN Game Server in case the server is running on a different subnet.

Step 2) LAN Account Creation

ProStreet PC LAN play requires each player to create a user account on the LAN Game Server. The username and password are case sensitive. All LAN statistics and leaderboards collected during LAN games are associated with each players account.

Note: LAN play does not require an internet connection and does not use EA Nation user accounts.

Step 3) Login

Login using the created LAN account.

Step 4) Lobby Screen

After login, the user is presented with the LAN lobby screen which shows a list of all active games (1 or more players) running in the ProStreet LAN Server. From the lobby screen, either create a new LAN game or join an existing LAN game.

If the ProStreet LAN Server has not been configured with enough game servers, then an attempt to create a new LAN Game will fail. In which case, see below for instructions on ProStreet LAN Server configuration.

ProStreet LAN Server
===================================

Overview:
The ProStreet LAN Server provides the following functionality:
- Hosts up to 32 simultaneous games of 2-8 players per game
- LAN Player Account Database
- LAN Leaderboards and Game Statistics
- Game Results Web Server
- Game Results RSS Feed


Note that only ONE PC connected to the LAN should host the ProStreet LAN Server.

ProStreet LAN Server System requirements:
- Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0.

Step 1) Startup ProStreet LAN Server
In the ProStreet install directory, run the following application:
\Online\Launcher.exe

E.g. "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Need For Speed ProStreet\Online\Launcher.exe"


Step 2) ProStreet LAN Server Configuration

In the ProStreet LAN Server window, select “Settings->Edit”. The following options are available:
- Max Create Games: (Default 1)
- Server Port: (Default 10104)
- HTTP Port: (Default 8080)
- RSSFeed: (Default Enabled)

Select the number of games that the server is to host. Maximum of 32 games can be hosted. Select “OK”. Server must be restarted for changes to take effect. Restart server by selecting “File->Restart”.


ProStreet LAN Server: Game Results Web Server
===================================

The LAN game results collected in the ProStreet LAN Server can be viewed by any PC connected to the LAN via a web browser. Note that a LAN game must be completed and exited by all players in order for a game result to be finalized and logged on the server.

The ProStreet LAN Server game results web page is located at the following URL by default: http://SERVERIP:8080.

If you wish to change the port that the web server runs on, edit “Server Port” which can be found under “Settings->Edit” in the ProStreet LAN Server Window.


ProStreet LAN Server: Game Results RSS 2.0 Feed
===================================

The LAN Game Server provides a RSS feed of completed game results as they occur. The RSS feed is RSS 2.0 and you must have a compatible RSS client to subscribe to the feed. (E.g. Mozilla Firefox Version 2 or later; or, Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 7 or later).

A link to the RSS 2.0 feed is on the ProStreet LAN Server web page at URL: http://SERVERIP:8080

FAQ and Troubleshooting Guide – December, 2007

1) How can I run the ProStreet LAN Server on a different port?

In the ProStreet LAN Server window, select “Settings->Edit”. The following options are available:
- Max Create Games: (Default 1)
- Server Port: (Default 10104)
- HTTP Port: (Default 8080)
- RSSFeed: (Default Enabled)

In the Server Port field, enter the port number you want the ProStreet LAN Server to listen to.

Restart the LAN server. Select "File->Restart".

2) When attempting to create a LAN game, I get the message "Maximum number of games created on the ProStreet LAN Server. Please reconfigure server or try again."

The ProStreet LAN Server needs to be reconfigured with a greater number of games.

In the ProStreet LAN Server window, select “Settings->Edit”. The following options are available:
- Max Create Games: (Default 1)
- Server Port: (Default 10104)
- HTTP Port: (Default 8080)
- RSSFeed: (Default Enabled)

In the Max Create Games field, increase the number of games you wish to run. This is the total number of simultaneous games that the ProStreet LAN Server will support. The suggested maximum is 32 games.

Restart the LAN server. Select "File->Restart".

3) Cannot auto detect ProStreet LAN Server.

After starting up the ProStreet LAN Server on a different computer and selecting LAN from the ProStreet game main menu, auto discovery of the ProStreet LAN Server is failing and I am prompted to enter the IP address and port of the LAN server manually.

Both the ProStreet LAN Server and ProStreet PC Game must be running on the same subnet for autodiscover to work correctly. Ensure that the ProStreet LAN Server and ProStreet PC Game are on the same IP subnet.

4) Players are connected to the ProStreet LAN Server but do not see the same game list?

Likely that multiple ProStreet LAN Servers are running on the same subnet. There should only be ONE ProStreet LAN Server running per LAN. Shutdown the additional ProStreet LAN Servers on the LAN.

5) How can I disable the RSS Feed and web server?

In the ProStreet LAN Server window, select “Settings->Edit”. The following options are available:
- Max Create Games: (Default 1)
- Server Port: (Default 10104)
- HTTP Port: (Default 8080)
- RSSFeed: (Default Enabled)

Uncheck the RSSFeed option.

Restart the LAN server. Select "File->Restart".

6) How can I run the RSS Feed and web server on a different port?

In the ProStreet LAN Server window, select “Settings->Edit”. The following options are available:
- Max Create Games: (Default 1)
- Server Port: (Default 10104)
- HTTP Port: (Default 8080)
- RSSFeed: (Default Enabled)

In the HTTP Port field, enter the port number you want the RSS and web server to listen to.

Restart the LAN server. Select "File->Restart".

7) How can I delete the game results displayed on the RSS Feed and web server?

Shut down the ProStreet LAN Server. Select "File->Exit".

Delete the following files:
\Online\statsdb.bin
\Online\gamelist-working.html
\Online\lan-rss-working.html

Delete the file folders starting with "LAN-Game-Results-":
\Online\LAN-Game-Results-*

Start ProStreet LAN Server. Run the following application:
\Online\Launcher.exe

Call of Duty 4 Patch v1.4

Iz Infinity Ward-a nam stiže nova zakrpa za Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Novine koje 1.4 verzija donosi pretežno se odnose na multiplayer. Dodata je nova mapa "Winter Crash", koja je ustvari modifikovana verzija mape "Crash". Od novina takođe treba spomenuti izmenjenu preciznost određenih pušaka. The Witcher Patch v1.2

Atari je izbacio novi patch za jedno od najboljih RPG ostvarenja ove godine, The Witcher. Nova zakrpa ispravlja dosta bagova koji su se ticali nasumičnih pucanja i izletanja u Windows. Takođe, skraćeno je vreme učitavanja snimljenih pozicija, što će veoma značiti igračima sa skromnijim mašinama. Gameplay and text bugs fixed:
- Fixes for Alina not being at her home when she should (Act 4).
- Wife's Tears Potion fixes.
- Fixes for usable doors on the swamps (Act 5).
- Fixes for Alchemist in manufacture giving quest items to Geralt (Act 3).
- Fixes for some items to be found in Fields (Act 4).
- Fixes for a disappearing enemy in quest Haunted House (Act2).
- Fixed problems with Alvin's spawn (Act 1).
- Few minor text fixes for all languages.

Code bugs fixed:
- Loading times are much faster!
- Saving is much faster!
- Another portion of stability improvements.
- Fix for rare "red rectangle" effect on loading bar.
- Quest tracking fixes.
- Some cursor fixes connected with finishers in tight places.
- Quest now won't update when Geralt is dead causing multiple problems.
- Autosave mechanism fixes (numeration).
- Savegame files fixes – some irrelevant information was sometimes generated inside.
- The game won't make an autosave if Geralt has an effect preventing him from talking (like knockdown, stun, push) - the result would be no talking at all for the rest of the game.
- Now you can't attack neutral NPCs if you input the second (etc.) sword sequence in them, while first attacking a hostile.
- Dandelion's music won't be 'echoed' while changing location twice.
- The game can handle broken savegames now – it returns to main menu.
- Motion blur effect won't stay active despite Blizzard potion wearing off – drinking, then changing location, then cutscene.
- Final fixes for weapons disappearing from enemies’ hands.
- Grass and small stones being multiplied – fixed.
- Fixes for receiving damage from Striga while being far away.

Art bugs fixed:
- Few level decoration fixes.
- Fixes for barghest attack animation.

Stranger v1.1 Patch

Duke Nukem Forever intervju

Svi smo ga smatrali mrtvim, ali nam je on pokazao srednji prst i stavio do znanja da je još uvek živ i zdrav. Nakon "zanimljivog" teasera koji je nedavno ugledao svetlost dana, gospodin George Broussard je rešio da podeli još koju informaciju o razvoju Duke Nukem For(n)ever igre. oatmela: what engine is it using? Not bashing at all, just curious.

Broussard: Unreal. I believe we branched off somewhere around the Unreal 2 time when they added static meshes. Since then we've redone the rendering 100% and it's a fully modern engine.

jimvolk: Now that the game has been through such a long development process and revisions, will it still be a LONG game? or will it be a fairly short experience (ala Prey)? Surely after 9-10 years, we can all hope for a decent length game, and a wide multiplayer experience.

Broussard: The game has not been one continuous game worked on. It's probably re-started 3+ times due to various issues. The current (and last) version is 2004-ish. As for game length we should be similar to competitive games in our genre.

Unleashed: how long does it take for one of your characters/monsters(duke for example) to get modeled/textured and ingame?

Broussard: 6 weeks?

Sturm08: What's your favorite part of the game so far?

Broussard: I like environment puzzles, and blowing the heads and arms off of things.

smacknca: any regrets breaking the long media silence with this teaser? its pretty obvious many people didnt quite get the whole 'this is just a teaser made by some cool folks at 3DR for the holidays and we wanted to share with the world'

Broussard: Gotta start somewhere. No regrets. With our development history if you let regrets bother you, you'd jump off the nearest roof. Onward and upward.

omnova: Is environment interactivity going to be a bullet point in the game's feature list?

Broussard: Big, big, yes.

pyrogen: Will it have over-the-top gibs flying everywhere? You know, the old-fashioned kind with body chunks and blood trails everywhere.

Broussard: Yes. But in a way that makes sense. Shotguns pull limbs off, but not a machine gun or pistol. Explode something or set off a pipe bomb and you can remove limbs that are within splash range and take enough individual damage. But yes, gibs are back.

Nerealni Grad Grehova

Verovatno se sećate Sin City-a, filma Franka Millera iz 2005. godine baziranom na istoimenom stripu. Film je, između ostalog, ostao upamćen po zanimljivom načinu prikaza. Naime, kombinovane su crno-bela i kolor tehnika i to je dalo prilično dobre ruzaltate. Nego, vratimo se onome glavnom. Dok filmofili isčekuju drugi deo filma, za nas igrače stiže poslastica u vidu igre. Ta vest nije baš najnovija, ali ono što se tek nedavno saznalo je da će igra biti bazirana na Unreal endžinu treće generacije. Iz do sada objavljenih igara pokretanim na tom endžinu smo videli koje su mogućnosti endžina i čini se da su tvorci igre napravili pravi izbor. O samoj igri nema previše informacija. Spekuliše se da bi igra mogla da se pojavi u prodaji krajem sledeće godine ili eventualno početkom 2009. godine. Do tada, strpljenja.
