62 Symbian apps running at the same time – true multitasking demo on the Samsung i8910

The Samsung i8910 Omnia HD isn’t exactly the newest phone around, but it’s still a really good device.

In fact, it’s so good that it can run no less than 62 applications at the same time.

Andy HyperX has been releasing custom firmwares for the i8910 for some time now, and the latest firmware, called HX-V4-Speed-SE, allowed him to run the aforementioned 62 apps.

As you probably already know, the Samsung i8910 runs Symbian S60 touch, has 256MB of RAM and a 600MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor – so it’s not comparable to, say, a Google Nexus One (which has 512MB of RAM and a 1Ghz processor).

Now I wonder if Apple’s iPhone (with its newly acquired multitasking capabilities) will ever be able to run 62 apps at the same time.

ja imam jos e72 kao drugi telefon. nije ni blizu. a 97cu sam probao par dana od jednog druga, isto mercedes i fica*ficko je naravno 97. ovako skuvanom fw na o.hd moze da parira jedino leo htc po brzini ali ni po cemu ostalom.
iphone je igracka, nista korisno za njega ne postoji, tako da ne vidim koji bi se telefon mogao porediti po bilo cemu. puno hvala jos jednom

HX-V4-Main

Hello all together, i´m now 7 months in the Symbian-rom-cooking scene ! And it was never ever so hard like today, look at these Nokia people, they can live in freedom and peace, they don´t have people like F**** that wanted to start the 3rd world-war. Shame on him….
Btw. i don´t have time to comment such things or having endless discussions about that….. so who cares !?
Lets come to the interessting things, this time i made some nice experimental things, like the cube-widget bar or the CONTENTS-pack, so lets beginn with the credits: First i want to thank you Marek for his help on my site, supporting me and all the people.

open4all patch is still integrated but you can disable it via ROMpatcher-patch as some apps are not compatible with it !
Cube widget_bar can be enabled by flashing the Cube-flash-patch AFTER flashing the main part !

Descrition how to flash the new Firmware with contents-pack:


Do a flash with the exe file (as always)
after phone reboots, SHUT OFF Phone
go again in bootloader
start symbian rom-flashing tool from the CONTENTS package
click on CONTENTS SMD in the flashing tool and load the *.ima file depending on the device you are using (8GB or 16GB) from the package
plugin USB cable in your device and click on DOWNLOAD START
After phone reboots, the installation will beginn in the background, it´s finished when “reboot phone to finish installation”  apear.


If you want the Cube-widget-bar you have to flash the widget-patch BEFORE flashing the contents-pack: Download_cube_widget_patch

It´s very important to make a HARD-reset if you have flashed an older V4-Beta version before starting the flashing procedure !!!!

Niko se ovdje nefavorizuje, ja licno samo koristim HX-ov FW i informisem korisnike o njegovim izdanjima.

Cak i nisam trazio druge "kuvare" 

super bi bilo , kad si vec probao oba FW, da napises koju rec sta je dobro kod jednog a sta kod drugog.

Mislim sta znaci stabilniji?

I jos jedno pitanje, ima li verzija n2o2 full kinetic scroll ?

I´m happy to release my new V5 hopefully you will be satisfied with it ! This time i have created myself the Kastor-effects, I know they aren´t that fast, but they are smooth and without lag ! A speed release with max. speed will follow too !

Note that e:\ will be formated automatical ! Also note that on first Boot up, it will ask for an internet-connection, just cancel this pop-up.

Wait until “installation is finished” appear ! After reboot, everything should be fine !

    * “When you are leaving your car (if you are hands free connected by bluetooth) you are putting your Samsung I8910 into pocket. When the hands free is disconnecting for while is display active. During this time usually some short messages are sent, some alarms are set etc. by accident. Solution: no activation of display after hands free is disconnect.” -> ADDED (requested by marek and solved )
    * disabled charging note.
    * OVI-acount login on OVI maps no possible – fixed
    * Threaded-SMS-lite on autoinstall and linked INTO messaging-app as it replaced “conversations” you can update this app when ever you want to the PRO version

DON´T APPLY the older FLASH-patches ! The other patches from goodies section should still work !
Phone makes an HARD-reset ! So e:\will also be formated ! BACKUP your files BEFORE flashing your device.
On first Bootup the last installation step will begin and you get a message to connect to the internet, just chancel this pop-up and wait until “Phone will reboot to finish the installation” appear.
