RONALDO RECEIVES A DIET PLAN TO FOLLOW THROUGH THE HOLIDAYS



Ronaldo has been left with a big task throughout the holidays. Not only will he be recovering from his thigh injury but the Phenomenon has been given a strict diet. Ronaldo has been told, no carbohydrates at night. This will ensure that Ronaldo does not put on any weight during the holiday season.
All the Corinthian players received on Wednesday a program on what to do on vacation. The group was divided into three; those that need to gain weight, those that need to maintain their weight and those that need to lose weight.
Ronaldo was obviously in the group that needed to lose weight. Ronaldo received a spreadsheet to track his training and another list of things that he should not eat. On that list was pizza, pasta, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages which are completely banned at night.
“We ask that athletes do not eat too many carbohydrates just before they go to bed. Ronaldo fit into this group. The holidays are free, they do what they want, but we asked them to follow the schedule to return in good condition,” said Walmir Cruz, trainer of the Corinthians.
Ronaldo will sacrifice the first week of his vacation on physiotheraphy. He will then travel to Europe to resolve some personal problems and then return to Sao Paulo to spend the Christmas with his family. The players are all due back on the 5th January.

PRESIDENT OF THE CORINTHIANS SUPPORTS RONALDO’S CELEBRATION WITH FLAMENGO



Andrés Sanches, President of the Corinthians has come to the defense of Ronaldo, after the Phenomenon was criticised for celebrating with Flamengo after they secured the Brazilian Championship on Sunday.
“Adriano and Ronaldo are great friends. They are Athletes that fight on the pitch but off the pitch they are mates. There shouldn’t be a problem with Ronaldo going there. If Adriano was in Sao Paulo, he would have done the same. Legal agreements between players should exisit between leaders. We should support our club for 90 minutes but after that we would all be friends,” said Sanches.
Since Ronaldo signed with the Corinthians, Ronaldo has become a hate figure of the Flamengo fans but Ronaldo has also expressed his support for the club. In an event held in Sao Paulo, where Ronaldo received the “Brazilian of the Year” award, presented by President Lula. Ronaldo again stated his support for Flamengo.
“This year has been wonderful for me,” said Ronaldo, “I could not imagine I would pick up two titles as a player and also two titles as a fan.”

SCOLARI SAYS WORLD CUP STILL IN REACH FOR RONALDO



Luiz Felipe Scolari, who was the coach of the winning team in 2002 World Cup believes that Ronaldo still has a chance to make it to the World Cup. All he needs to do is lose a few pounds.
“If Ronaldo wants to, then he can. He just needs to lose some of the weight and return to a better fitness and he will be a headache to anyone (in defense),” said Scolari.
Although Scolari does not approve of Ronaldo’s current form. The former Brazil coach praised the Phenomenon for going through all the difficulties in his career. In 2002, Scolari chose Ronaldo over Romario at the time. That was a major call but it worked in Scolari’s favor. Hoepfully, Dunga is not thinking the same and replacing Ronaldo with Fabiano.
“Ronaldo is a player who excels. Many people imagine that he is finished but he has the power to overcome that, much more than other athletes,” added Scolari.

ROBERTO CARLOS JOINS RONALDO AT CORINTHIANS



The Corinthians have confirmed the signing of Roberto Carlos, who will join the team on 4th January 2010. This is a great boost for the team and another big name signing for the club.
Now we just need Riquelme to join the club and we’re all set for the new season…Oh I forgot, we really need Ronaldo a slimmer Ronaldo in the new year as well.

Bivši brazilski fudbalski reprezentativac i jedan od najboljih izvođača slobodnih udaraca svih vremena, Roberto Karlos, izjavio je danas u Sao Paulu na predstavljanju navijačima da želi da pomogne svom novom klubu Korintijansu da prvi put osvoji Kup Libertadores.

On će u klubu iz Sao Paula igrati zajedno sa bivšim saigračem iz reprezentacije Ronaldom, koji je u klub došao prošle godine.

Roberto Karlos je iz turskog Fenerbahčea prešao u Korintijans, a u karijeri je nastupao još za Real Madrid, Inter, Palmeiras, Atletiko Mineiro i Uniao Sao Žoao.

Najviše uspeha, svakako, imao je igrajući za Real, u kojem je proveo 11 godina i osvojio četiri šampionske titule, tri Superkupa Španije i Superkup Evrope. Tri puta je trijumfovao u Ligi šampiona, a dva puta je osvajao Svetsko klupsko prvenstvo.

Za reprezentaciju Brazila, sa kojom je 2002. godine trijumfovao na Svetskom prvenstvu, nastupio je 125 puta uz 11 postignutih golova.
