Samsung i200 officially out, comes with Windows Mobile 6.1



Back in February we posted about Samsung SGH-i200 mid-range smartphone. Now it's officially announced, but unlike we initially thought, it will come with the latest version of Windows Mobile - 6.1 (not 6.0). The thin device seems designed to turn an average feature phone user into a full fledged smartphone junkie. This little phone has everything a novice smartphone user could dream, including HSDPA support, 2.3-inch QVGA screen, 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and an array of MS Office mobile apps that should make everyone more productive while on-the-go. Additionally, the i200's unique "light sensor" makes sure users minimize the power consumption to adjust lightness of LCD and keypad automatically. No WiFi, though.

The Samsung i200 will be launched in the European market in June and will enter other markets within a month. No pricing details were given.

Willcom 03 announced in Japan: Slide-out QWERTY, Windows Mobile 6.1, one-seg, 3-inch VGA!



Willcom announced its latest super-phone - WILLCOM 03. As you're about to see the new Windows Mobile 6.1 device has everything a user could think of, including high-speed connectivity radio(s), powerful CPU, large screen, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, mobile TV and so much more. In addition, the bottom part of the device sports some sort of smart keypad, which morphs from numeric keypad to D-pad.

Enough rant, let's go through specs, shell we:

    * CPU: Marvell PXA270 520MHz
    * OS: Windows Mobile 6.1
    * Display: 3-inch VGA touchscreen, 65K colors. However, it's important to add they (+D Mobile) refer to VGA as 480×800 pixels, so it's WVGA actually!
    * Connectivity: 3G, Bluetooth 2.0, WiFi, IrDA 1.2/IrSS
    * Camera: 2 megapixel with auto-focus (why not more)
    * Mobile TV: One-seg receiver
    * Memory: 256MB ROM, 128MB RAM, microSD expansion slot
    * Dimension: 50×116x17.9 mm, weight: 135 grams
    * Colors: gold, pink, lime

In a nutshell, it's the Japanese version of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 with lower megapixel camera, but with a mobile TV radio.

RoverPC P7 PDA Smartphone



RoverPC has released its P7 PDA smartphone that packs a fair bit of decent technology within, making it a positive step upwards compared to its predecessor, the P6.

Qualcomm lets the Windows Mobile 7 cat out of the bag along with $299 mini laptop



As if things weren't confusing enough in the world of tiny computers, Qualcomm went and blurted off news about a $299 machine that will run Windows Mobile 7 on its Snapdragon mobile chip set. Qualcomm's senior veep Luis Pineda boasted that the machine will run WinMo7 and is more efficient than its competitors from the likes of Intel, AMD, and Via. When pressed, he wouldn't give up any additional hardware specs, but he promises a "big presence in Snapdragon-based devices at CES 2009". This isn't the first time we've seen mention of Windows Mobile 7, but it's quite possibly the first tie-in with a specific product group. We look forward to the Snapdragon-Intel-AMD-Via mobile computing war in the coming year, indeed.

Samsung i900




While Samsung i900 have still not been officially announced the rumors have been around for some time accompanied with some bad pics. Today we have some better pictures on our hands thanks to the Chinese site pconline.com.cn



The strongest point of this Samsung i900, is its 3.5″ touchscreen with a new 240×400 resolution (WQVGA), instead of the usual 240×320 resolution (QVGA).



Samsung i900 will integrate a 5MP digital camera - a first for a Windows Mobile device with 16GB of memory. The i900 will have quadband GSM, 3G, and HSDPA at 7.2 Mbps. Of course you still have your Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.2 EDR. The battery will be 1500mAh, and you’ll have microSD port, and FM radio. It will use Windows Mobile Professional 6.1.
