Using a cautious approach, a pair of tweezers, what appears to be a guitar pick and a pair of delicate white gloves, he details the disassembly of SE's highly-anticipated XPERIA X1 in four captivating clips. XPERIA X1 dresses up with a new thumbable interface panel

We guess that you probably know pretty much everything about the XPERIA X1 Pocket PC. So you know Sony Ericsson are staking much on their proprietary panels interface. It turns out that one of the panels will be the highly popular Spb Mobile Shell - a thumb optimized home screen interface that has gained popularity among Windows Mobile fans.

Available as a free download for XPERIA X1 users, the custom Spb Mobile Shell improves the default WinMo interface by "making it more direct, logical, and slick" by making full use of the available 3D acceleration and spacious 3-inch WVGA display.



The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 is the latest uber device by the company and the first to feature Windows Mobile and a full slide out QWERTY keyboard.

Sony Ericsson C902 Titanium Silver aka Bond’s latest phone should hit stores anytime now



Sony Ericsson announced that the result of their cooperation with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures/Columbia Pictures on a new Bond movie, QUANTUM OF SOLACE, is about to hit stores in “select markets.”We’re talking about the Sony Ericsson C902 Titanium Silver, the same 5 megapixel camera-equipped device that is used by Daniel Craig in the 22nd James Bond adventure.

Being a special edition phone includes some enhancements, hence the Swedish-Japanese handset maker is bundling tons of 007 content withe the handset, including:

    * Special welcome message
    * Dynamic screensavers
    * Static and dynamic wallpapers
    * James Bond mobile theme
    * QUANTUM OF SOLACE movie trailer
    * Behind the scenes interviews and footage from the movie
    * Activision trailer
    * “Top Agent” game

The Sony Ericsson C902 Titanium Silver is a limited edition device, meaning it will probably go out of stock till the end of the year. So if you wanted to grab one, you better hurry!

Sony Ericsson Xperia Panels SDK updated to include Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, Windows Vista and key mapping emulator support



With Xperia X1 launch approaching, Sony Ericsson has released another beta version of its SDK for Windows Mobile 6.1 to enable developers to create Xperia Panels and applications for Sony Ericsson’s flagship smartphone - Xperia X1.

The SDK version 1.0.4 includes Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and Windows Vista OS compatibility and adds key mapping support to the Xperia X1 Device Emulator. In addition, the accompanying tutorials, getting-started documents and walkthroughs have also been updated.

The Swedish-Japanese handset maker wants you to develop for their first Windows Mobile baby, hence Xperia Panels have their own category in this year’s Sony Ericsson Content Awards competition.

In a nutshell, many things seem set to push developers toward making apps for the Xperia. We’re eagerly waiting to see where this goes and are looking forward to see some really cool apps made for the X1 and hopefully future Sony Ericsson models sporting the Xperia panels.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 hits the shelves in Europe, costs 630 euros

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 is already available even earlier than the expected release date of 30th October, we've already written about.



If you want to be among the first owners of the Sony Ericsson flagship phone, it can be yours for the XTRA spicy price of 630 EUR (800 US dollars) at the Clove UK online store.

If that's too much for you, you can consider its competitor, the HTC Touch Pro, which sells for about 560 euro (700 US dollars). In case you are interested in the HTC phone, have a look at our extensive review.

O2 Germany first to offer the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 in the country



O2 has scored the exclusive launch rights for the long-awaited Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 handset. The all-in-one Windows Mobile smartphone packs all the things you could possibly need on your mobile device — including 3G (HSDPA), WiFi, GPS, large WVGA (800×480 pixels) touchscreen, 3.2 megapixel camera, and a whole lot more.

It is available for 329.99 EUR with a contract, or 619.99 EUR sans any agreements signed.

Later in the year, T-Mobile Germany and Vodafone D2 will also add the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 to their portfolios.
