Nokia 6212 classic

Today Nokia announced their latest NFC-enabled handset - the classic-shaped Nokia 6212 classic. Near field communication or NFC is the next generation of mobile connectivity (based on Bluetooth though) and it allows user to seamlessly share content, pay bills or use their cellphone as an electronic traveling ticket.

While NFC may sound exciting, it will take long before the technology gets wide support. The Nokia 6212 classic is not the first Nokia handset to feature NFC though - last year saw the announcement of the NFC version of Nokia 6131 for example.

 
Nokia 6212 classic

Beside NFC, the Nokia 6212 classic features dual-band UMTS support and quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity. It has a 2-inch 16M color TFT display with QVGA resolution, much like the Nokia 6500 classic. The 6212 classic is nowhere near the minimalist dimensions of the 6500 but it's compact nonetheless and weighs only 88 g.

Onboard the Nokia 6212 classic you will find a 2 megapixel snapper, miniUSB port, microSD memory card slot (up to 4GB), FM radio, and stereo Bluetooth. All this runs on the popular non-smartphone Nokia S40 software platform.

The Nokia 6212 classic will be available in Q3 2008 for around 200 euro before subsidies and taxes.

Nokia 1680 classic
The Nokia 1680 classic also offers an email client, GPRS/EDGE support, and MP3 ringtones. It has a 65K color TFT display with 128 x 160 pixels resolution, but unfortunately there's no Bluetooth available.
 

The Nokia 1680 classic will be available in Black, Slate Grey, Wine Red and Deep Plum in Q2 2008 for around 50 euro before subsides and taxes.



The Nokia 2680 Slide is another entry level phone this time with a VGA camera. It has a 65K color TFT display with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels and sports Bluetooth, FM radio and MP3 ringtones support.

 
   
An email client and GPRS/EDGE support are also present. The Nokia 2680 Slide will be available in Slate Gray, Night Blue, Orange and Violet in Q3 2008 for an approximate price of 75 euro before subsidies and taxes.


The Nokia 7070 Prism is a compact dual-band clamshell (that's right). It has a 65K TFT display with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels and weighs only 78 g.
It also sports up to 11MB of user memory for storing MP3 ringtones and has a 1000-entry phonebook. It also has GPRS support and an email client. Unfortunately, there's no USB or Bluetooth support to transfer files. A built-in camera is also absent.
 

The Nokia 7070 Prism will be available with either a Pink or Blue accent for around 50 euro in Q3 2008.



The Nokia 5000 sports a thin 11.1 mm design and a number of lively colors. It boasts a 1.3 megapixel camera, FM radio, a music player and Bluetooth support. There's also GPRS, EDGE and email support.

The Nokia 5000 runs on the S40 user interface and it probably greatest advantage is the QVGA resolution of its 2-inch 65K color TFT display.

 
The Nokia 5000 will be available in Cyber Green, Neon Blue and Perfect Purple in Q2 2008 somewhere in Q2 2008 for around 90 euro before subsidies and taxes.

Nokia N82 Black, Nokia N78, Nokia N96 release dates confirmed

I don’t know who exactly the folks from NokiaN96.net are referring to when they says that they had a talk with someone from inside Nokia (because Nokia is kind of big, you know), but he says his conversation with this person reveals and confirms the official release dates of three much-awaited Nseries phones, the Nokia N96, Nokia N78, and Nokia N82 Black. Yes, and that means you should start saving money now.

The exclusive report says that these new phones will be released simultaneously, with the N78 and N82 Black out a bit later than expected, while the N96 is out early.



So when is this exactly? They say it’s all happening on the 7th of May. Indeed it is a bit late for the N78 and N82 Black, which were both announced to be available by Q2 2008, while the N96 is quite early for Q3 2008.

It would be interesting to see if this insider information is true, and when you think of it kind of makes sense. Perhaps Nokia has thought ahead of time and decided that it will not risk being overshadowed by the rumored release of a 3G version of the iPhone. Or maybe they just like the 7th of May, I can’t say for sure. But one thing I know is this is going to be great news for eager Nokia Nseries fans. Personally, I’m looking forward to it.

Taman kad sam mislio da ne moze biti gora, ruznija tastatura od ove na N82 - pojavio se N78 

Ne znam Mikele zasto imas tako lose misljenje o tastaturi na N82? Ne znam koliko si imao prilike da je koristis? Meni seisto cinila jako losa na prvi pogled, ali jako brzo sam se navikao na nju i mogu da ti kazem da sada mislim da je jedna od boljih, mozda cak i najbolja od svih symbian telefona koje sam do sada koristio. Ubedljivo je najpreciznija, najutegnutija od svih symbian telefona koej sam do sada rsiotio. Evo ako hoces da ti pokazem nesto, recimo koliko brzo mogu da ukucam sms poruku ili tako nesto, vrlo rado cu to uraditi. Stvanro je veoma dobra tastatura.

...ajd ako je tako mada koristim slicnu tastaturu tipa crtica na SE k550,a tata W880 i nismo bas nesto odusevljeni... a ova n78 je biser tip tastature klackalice,a jooj pa to zahteva bas privikavanja... u ostale karakteristike ne sumljam

Na prvi pogled deluju nepraktično, ali i ja mislim da u principu i nisu toliko loše. Čim budem imao više prilika da ih testiram videću i sam da li jesu ili nisu dobre

Za N78 ne mogu da pricam posto nisam probao, ali ova na N82 je sasvim dobra tastatura, cak za mene jedna od boljih, ako ne i najbolja koju sam koristio do sada.

K550i koristim skoro svaki dan(jer ga moja sestra ima) i kao sto sam rekao tastatura je po meni odlicna, tasteri su taman... Smeta jedino onima koji imaju cevape 
Tastatura nije toliki problem po meni veci je problem sto nokija sad svaki model pravi sa istom plastikom koja ima veoma lep sjaj i veoma je lep magnet za otiske i prasinu(ko na k550i)
