Jurassic Rollercoaster 3D

Jurassic 3D Rollercoaster Rush whips its thrill-seekers through a dinosaur park loaded up with prehistoric monsters like lumbering T Rexes that approach the track with mouths agape and a zillion pearly fangs on display. There are 40 all-new tracks in this sequel, including several that send the riders into the drink. These splash tracks race underwater, adding one more freak out for your riders.

The controls for the Rollercoaster games are very simple. You just adjust the speed of the cars with an on-screen throttle. The faster you go, the happier the riders, who reward you with smiley faces. However, speed is not without risk. Whip over the top of a hill too fast and you might send the cars going into a flip. If the cars land poorly, they bounce off the track and everybody parachutes to safety. Even if you do survive the landing, you can possibly shake loose one or more cars of riders, which significantly reduces the amount of bonus you receive for completing the track.

TwimGo Could Be The N900 Twitter App That You Were Waiting For

Twitter on the Nokia N900 has always been a mixed bag. There are a lot of options, the web app Dabr, Witter, TweeGo  and so on, but there was always a compromise here and there. The best way to tweet and consume tweets from the N900 in my book has been the web app TweetGo.net.

Enter an all new Qt Web Runtime based Twitter client for the N900 in the form of TwimGo by Tommi Laukkanen. It is adept at all the basic Twitter functionality such as auto-refresh, replies, retweets, favourites, DM’s and does all of this in a pretty eye catching UI. Here are a few screenshots.









It even packs a portrait mode for on the go app use.



But since screenshots sometimes don’t tell the complete picture, the developer has kindly put together a short video showing the app off.



Please note that the app is still under developement and has only hit the 3rd Alpha yet. There are a few features such as uploading TwitPics missing, on this Tommi Laukkanen  says that he will add the TwitPic, etc. service uploads when Qt Web Runtime documentation gets better. But you can already preview TwitPics and Yfrog uploads from within the app.

All in all its the best combination of a great looking UI and functionality among all the Twitter apps available for the N900. To use TwimGo, you need to have Qt Web Runtime on your N900. Download TwimGo here and visit the TwimGo homepage for more.

Nokia Panorama


Wide-angle high-resolution panoramic views are now possible on N900. Panorama application produces high-quality smooth panoramic images by automatically capturing and processing input images into a panorama, directly on your device.

Once you start capturing the first image by pressing the camera button, the application starts tracking the scene and automatically aligning the other parts of it as you move the camera around.

Here and Now: what's on near you now

Nokia's N8, a Symbian^3 device, comes with a service called Here and Now. This reads the cell tower information you're currently connected to and opens a web page detailing the current events (cinema listings and weather, for example) near you. I've done a quick port to Maemo 5 and the N900.

Once installed, you can launch it like any other application:



Without using a GPS, it sends your approximate position to Nokia's servers and shows you what's currently going on:
