Seems like Nokia aren't wasting any time and have filed a patent application on an extraordinary new slider cameraphone. Besides the intriguing construction Nokia-N93-style, the fine print under the camera lens sounds tasty, as it says either 6 or 8 megapixels. Anyways, in both cases it is not something we see in mobile phones every day so at least it deserves a look.

The display will still serve as a viewfinder and photos can be still be taken in landscape mode, as the camera-part on top can be pulled up and rotated. When it's pulled up, the xenon flash unit gets revealed.



It seems that the worthy successor of Nokia N93 is already on its way. Unfortunately as of now there is not even the vaguest prediction about any of the other hardware specifications.

Wow, that’s all I can say, incredible activity; those guys from Nokia research labs are extremely productive nowadays, patent by paten, day by day, I should start a dedicated about Nokia patents blog ; )

Anyway, as you may have already know, Nokia N95 was the first phone that features innovative Nokia dual sliding form factor.

This unique dual sliding feature allows moving the top part in two directions, standard (up) to reveal classic numeric keypad and the most interesting, it also slides down to reveal 4 multimedia buttons arranged in the row that can be used for controlling multimedia playback, audio and video.

From other hand, on some other brands two way slider allowing having both, numeric keypad and QWERTY keyboard which is maybe even better solution especially for those that types a lot.



Now Nokia goes one step further and filed patent that reveals the triple sliding form factor or maybe I should call it multi layer form factor ; ) I guess that you’ll agree with me that it looks great on the paper, multimedia keys, classic keypad, QWERTY keyboard and finally the huge high-resolution touch screen over it, simply amazing; one device that features all possible input methods which one to use is up to you.

Nokia N95 dual way slider is already cloned by some leading manufactures, Samsung's i450 is nice example and I guess that Nokia with this huge effort on patents lately trying to stop it in future.

OMG!!!!!
The long awaited Nokia N96 is leaked!!!

OMG, I've just got some really cool materials on my mail, the first photos of long awaited Nokia N96 and unfortunately I have to be honest and say that I am a little bit disappointed.



First of all it is more than obvious y that phone is based on the Nokia N81, same form factor, materials, color, keypad, main navigation keys, everything, so it definitely looks like the real Nokia N81 successor although it features the Nokia N95 form factor, at least it looks like it features dual sliding.



Speaking of the disappointments it is more than obviously that phone lacks the camera protector and features the crappy led flash although it has the famous Carl Zeiss optic supported with the auto focus.



Beside the already mentioned bad aspects there are some huge improvements, the first is addition of the long awaited Feature Pack 2 and I can’t tell you how I am excited about.



The last but not the least, I am after detailed photos overview I am pretty sure that it features high resolution screen, probably VGA and that we finally get the rid of the crappy QVGA screens.
