I have ADSL with 256 kbit\s and I hope it will do. And, yes I am using english version of the game.

with 640 kbps it runs perfectly, with 256kbps it runs too but sometimes you will have  problems in connecting to users with a higher speed. For example if you partecipate to a race against users with 640, 1,2Mbit etc.
probably the connection "crashes". Dont worry, online there are many with 256 so you can play untroubled.

So far I discovered it is not simple to play the PC version online, for many people results impossible. EA GAMES this time has set strongest protection,I heard that for the pc version you must pay to play online about 40 euros monthly but for ps2 not, I cant understand this!

Ah sorry, about to play online, seems to be not possible without the original game (these are the words of all the people who tried) not yet maybe in the future.
I dont try the pc game because I play it on ps2, so I dont want to download another version just for trying to crack the online mod. I hope you understand.
The only way to play this game online is this, follow these steps:

     1) Download the patch 1.1 from te website of EA GAMES.

     2) If you have installed a previously crack exe to run the game
         uninstall it, simply replace it with the original SPEED2.EXE that you
         can take from the cd you used to install the game.

     3) Install the patch 1.1

     4) Install the crack SPEED2.EXE by VIPERSS tm (there are a lot of
         cracks on the internet but they all not work) I modified this one
         so far as possible and I hope it works fine.

How you get this file? I can send it you trough messenger or something else if you want. I already sent this file to a contact I know so he can also test if it works.

Yes I think so, at the moment this is the only way, the online playing is highly protected, it's something unexpected, on the playstation the protection is on the disc so you just have to change the disc structure and reburn the DVD, on the PC version there are protections in serial numbers so far I know.
Try the way I described above, if you want the file give me your email and I will send it to you it's about 5 MB, otherwise or you give up (for the moment) or you have to buy the original game.
