New Hack Turns Your iPad 3G into a Phone to Allow Calls, SMS, and More




While the jailbreak scene is home to a lot of apps and utilities that make our lives easier, it is also a hot bed for innovation. Since the Cydia App Store has very little submission guidelines, developers can use forbidden API’s as their hearts’ desire.

While you may not necessarily “need” this utility, it definitely falls in the innovative category. The guys over at iPhoneIslam have created an app that turns your 3G-modeled iPad into a talking, texting iPhone. Don’t believe it? Video after the break…

From the folks that brought you the FaceIt3GS tweak, comes PhoneItiPad. They claim that you won’t need any special hardware, and you will be able to do anything you would expect to do from your iPhone. This includes FaceTime (by #), phone calls, and text messaging.



The developers just uploaded this video to their YouTube channel a few hours ago, with the description “a hack that will change the game.” Though there is currently no release date, they expect the app to be in Cydia very soon.

While I would typically be more skeptical of such a blurry, low light film, this one comes from a trusted source. These guys have been responsible for multiple impressive Cydia submissions, but I think this one certainly takes the cake.

Forget the Android phones with 4.3in screens, I’m going with the 9.7. Can you imagine your iPad ringing in public? I challenge you to answer it while in line at the bank, just like you would a typical cell phone, without smirking.

Official: Steve Jobs to unveil iCloud, iOS 5, and Lion June 6 at WWDC




Apple has announced this morning that CEO Steve Jobs and other executives will take the stage on June 6th to talk next-generation software. Specifically, Apple will introduce their cloud-services – with an official header name of iCloud – in addition to iOS 5 and Mac OS 10.7 Lion.

    "Apple® CEO Steve Jobs and a team of Apple executives will kick off the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) with a keynote address on Monday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m. At the keynote, Apple will unveil its next generation software – Lion, the eighth major release of Mac OS® X; iOS 5, the next version of Apple’s advanced mobile operating system which powers the iPad®, iPhone® and iPod touch®; and iCloud®, Apple’s upcoming cloud services offering."

Apple is also, of course, promising over 100 technical sessions, but have to yet to actually announce those details. The full press release is after the break.

bice zabavno sestog juna, ako su oni danas izbacili iWork za iPhone i nisu sacekali WWDC, to znaci da tamo imaju dosta zanimljivih stvari da prikazu.

Jel moguće da iPhone tastatura kada se kuca ne pokazuje mala i velika slova, nego da uvek stoje velika?

Tako je, ali ne vidim kakav je to problem jer se na onoj strelici (Shift) vidi kada kucas koja slova:

- mala slova




- veliko slovo




- sve velika slova (Caps Lock)

Ma istripovao sam se danas, dao mi drug da mu nešto iskucam a ja kao idiot klikćem po tom shift-u i čekam da smanji slova a ono se ne smanjuje, pa nije da smeta ali sam mislio da je to normalno.

Apple iPad 2 meets a real Minigun, doesn't survive to tell the story




Google's Eric Schmidt once said that thanks to smartphones that are always with us we will have access to all of the world's information at any time, and boredom will thus be eliminated.

Seeing what people are coming up with on YouTube to keep themselves and us entertained, we say he was spot on. Ever wondered what will happen if an iPad 2 meets a Minigun? If not, you are not alone, but someone did schedule a meeting nonetheless.

In the video below Apple's newest tablet gets shot with a true Gatling-style helicopter Minigun, a thrill that no Angry Birds clone can reproduce. The screen gets shattered, but overall the tablet holds itself pretty well - doesn't fall apart into pieces, that is, considering the 7.62mm rounds pounding it.

The whole thing doesn't serve any practical purpose, but the entertainment value is priceless. Our favorite quote: "Even with Facetime that iPad 2 ain't gonna see it coming". Oh, and there is a super slow motion rerun, too, for your viewing pleasure. We won't be warning you not to do this at home, since we assume getting access to a Minigun will be a big enough hurdle.
