Časopis Mobilni magazin proglasio je najbolje modele mobilnih telefona u Srbiji za 2008. godinu. Članovi redakcije Mobilnog magazina proglasili su najbolje mobilne telefone u pet kategorija, a pobednici iz svake kategorije konkurisalai su za priznanje najboljeg mobilnog telefona u 2008. godini.

Glavno priznanje je dobio telefon Nokia E71, kao apsolutno najbolji telefon u 2008. godini, a za pobedu u ostalim kategorijama takmičilo se ukupno 15 modela kompanija Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG i HTC.

LG's magical GD910 wrist phone packs touchscreen, camera and rainbows



It was deliciously inevitable that a watch phone would eventually show up that could actually "pack it all in," and it looks like LG has actually accomplished that feat in its LG-GD910 model. Of note, the phone packs a touchscreen LCD, 3G data, and a built-in camera for videoconferencing and being a general badass. Sure, browsing to your favorite gadget blog might be a tad bit difficult on that 1.43-inch screen, and there's always the question of fashion, but those are minor quibbles -- the real question is where can we get one, and for how much. LG should be showing this off at CES next month (it showed off a predecessor this January), and plans to release it in Japan and Europe, but we've got a couple of cereal box-delivered 2-way wrist radios crossed behind our backs in hopes for a US berth.

First Shots of the Samsung S8300 Touchscreen Slider Surface

Our bud PhatTrance over at DailyMobile has got his hands on some great pics of a new Samsung S8300. The device is the next generation of the Samsung U900 Soul, and should hit the shelves sometime in March of 2009. The new device is a slider, and comes in at only 12.8mm thick (nice). There’s an 8MP camera, 2.8 inch WQVGA touchscreen, GPS, FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth more. The body of the device is made from duralumin (honest, I didn’t make that word up) and comes coated with an anti-scratch and anti-fingerprint coating. To finish things off, the Samsung S8300 will have somewhere in the range of 60MB of memory on-board to help you enjoy all of your favorite media. Enjoy the snaps below!

Magnetic / detachable lenses suddenly make cellphone cameras fun



Not that we haven't seen patently absurd lens attachments for mobiles before, but we've yet to come across any that were this universal (and be to honest, this useful). Sure, one could argue that a detachable wide-angle, fisheye or 2x telephoto lens made for a cellphone camera is more likely to do nothing than something, but we prefer to look on the sunny side of things. In other words, it's totally worth $16.99 just to be able to make your subjects pause as you whip out the correct lens for the occasion... which you're photographing on your C905.

Phenom Watch Phone launched, touchscreen and MP3 player included

Ever heard of the Phenom brand (no, not the AMD processors)? If you haven’t, the US-based Phenom Communications surely wants you to, as it has just launched the Phenom Watch Phone.

Yes, another new watch phone, after the LG GD910, which was showcased just yesterday. 

The Phenom Watch Phone combines an unlocked GSM phone, an MP3 / MP4 player and a digital / video camera in a small device that can be easily attached to your wrist.



The features of the new gadget include:

    *A 1.3 TFT touchscreen display
    *Bluetooth
    *USB
    *Speakerphone
    *MicroSD card support, up to 2GB



Those who want to buy the Phenom Watch Phone can apparently find it at the Phenom official website. Phenom says that the device’s retail price starts “at just $195”, although the website shows prices from $245 and up.

Lupa concept phone: iPod Classic meets Motorola Aura

If Apple will ever want to make a swivel phone based on the iPod Classic, it should take a good look at the Lupa concept right here.

Designed by Mac Funamizu, who’s also behind that Nokia Aeon-like concept, Lupa is a phone that would surely attract everyone’s eye if ever built in reality.

Its form factor reminds us of the uber-expensive Motorola Aura, although I think Lupa looks better, mainly thanks to its transparent swivel display.

The concept has a big navigation wheel, similar to the one we all know from Apple’s sixth generation iPod Classic.



Apart from these details, there’s not much info regarding the features that Lupa should offer.

It’s worth mentioning that “lupa” means loupe in some languages (Spanish, for example), this actually being the word on which the whole concept is based.

What to expect for Windows Mobile in 2009



With 2008 now behind us, what do Windows Mobile users have to look forward to in 2009? Here is a short list of developments we can expect over the next 12 months.

1) Windows Mobile 6.1.4’s release, bringing with it IE 6 on 6.

2) New devices from Motorola, Asus, Acer, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Palm and HTC.  A resurgence of the QVGA screen due to the credit crunch. Due to the same issue there will be less devices released than in 2008.

3). The HTC Max 4G to spread to other countries with WIMAX deployment, like Australia and Canada. HTC will release an HTC Touch HD Pro.

4) New online offerings from Microsoft, including an online app store code-named Skymarket, and online storage code-named Skydrive.

5) The Zune service will spread to Windows Mobile, but due to licensing issues it will only be available in some countries and tied to operator offerings.

6) New devices with more powerful processors will be released, such as Nvidia’s Tegra and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon.

7) Due to these more powerful processors it will be possible to run full versions of Adobe’s Flash 10, which will be released towards the end of 2009.

8 ) Windows Mobile will increasingly re-purposed for use in Netbooks and MID’s.  With a full desktop experience possible WM will be increasingly competitive in this role.

9) Windows Mobile 6.5 will be released, which will have many of Microsoft’s services finally tied together, making for a more coherent experience. Microsoft will be accused of abusing their monopoly position due to this.

10) Windows Mobile 7’s release will be rumoured for 2010.

HD video recording coming in cameraphones this year?



Yep, I reckon quite possibly, if this current trends are anything to go by…….

So we are now at the stage where we have:

•    8-10MP still image camera modules and devices coming on to the market
•    Camcording functions that will do VGA resolution, and/or up to 120fps

The move to 1280×720 (which would give 720p HD theoretically) therefore cannot be that far away, and it’s not beyond the bound of reality to think we could even get up in to 1080 line territory (the so-called Full HD).

Of course, to enable this, you have to have some fairly potent graphics chips on-board the device – to the point where they are even dedicated chips for processing the “massive” HD frames (HD resolution is 4-5x larger than an SD frame).

But I think that the likes of Samsung and LG, and perhaps Nokia (NYSE: NOK) too, who are racing to deliver the “mostest” and “bestest” device for imaging & video, may well have hardware up their sleeves this year that could mean the first HD recording mobile device.

Now, HD by specification does NOT mean HD by quality. As the Still imaging arena has shown, most still cameras still produce a substantially better image than a mobile device, and those devices claiming high MP counts definitely cannot say their picture will be best because of it – I still the k800i 3.2MP images were leagues above the 5MP camera contenders that followed it, in terms of quality.

But what’s the betting that before the end of the year we’ll see something claiming to be HD-capable for video recording? HTC has already named one of their devices the “HD”, but that was referring more to the screen resolution – what we all want to see now is something that records good enough video that we can plug it directly in to an HD TV and watch it at a decent level of quality…
