Disney Mobile intros its second phone for Japan, the DM002SH



Apparently satisfied enough with its first model to take another stab at the Japanese market, Softbank MVNO Disney Mobile is trotting out another Sharp-sourced model, the DM002SH. The Cinderella-themed flip is targeted squarely at the fairer sex, coming reasonably well-equipped with wide QVGA resolution on its 2.6-inch primary display, 2 megapixel camera, microSD slot, an OLED external display, and one-seg TV tuner. As far as we can tell, there's also precisely zero shortage of Cinderella media -- movies, ringtones, and the like -- so owners really need only to pick up the crystal slippers to complete the package. It'll be available starting June 7 in silver, pink, and gold, just like the original DM001SH.

NTT DoCoMo's 906i and 706i handsets answer "who's your daddy?"



We'll get into more detail later, but we thought it was appropriate to share the moment when the Japanese showed the world just how pathetic your 3G iPhone fantasies really are. Announced today are 19 new handsets from NTT DoCoMo's 906i and 706i series. All 8 of the 906i feature 3G / GSM international roaming, GPS, HSDPA, 1-seg mobile TV, full browser with Flash 8 support, DCMX mobile credit card and iD mobile credit payment tech, VGA LCD screens, and voice to text translation of Chinese, English, and Japanese. Some even support direct transfer of Blu-ray video. The 11-strong 706i series features a variety of handsets including a waterproof 1-Seg phone, world's slimmest 1-Seg phone, and a wellness phone to monitor your health and diet. Mouse Phone



I know that this is the year of the rat according to the Chinese zodiac, which could explain the existence of this Mouse Phone. Features include :-

    * 1.3" TFT LCD display
    * MP3 and video playback
    * Stereo Bluetooth connectivity
    * 1.3 megapixel camera with video recording
    * Integrated FM radio

Definitely one of the more unwieldy phones to carry around, since it would look rather obscene stuffing it down your pants pocket. I wonder whether Disney lawyers will be furious at the silhouette cast by the Mouse Phone.

iPhone vs. HTC Touch Diamond vs. Xperia X1... Fight!



Would you look at that: a thick slab of iPhone meat in a Sony Ericsson and HTC sandwich. The iPhone's big screen is nice and all but the device is starting to look a bit portly given that the Xperia X1 sports a QWERTY with chewy HSDPA data, the latter shared with the Touch Diamond. Tasty, regardless.

LG KC550 - affordable 5 megapixel cameraphone



I've no idea when LG announced the KC550, but it was just recently we've spot it around the web.

First let's talk about price. For 179.95 GBP (about $356) on Expansys, you get a sexy, 14.3 mm thin slider which boasts a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus. In addition, the tri-band device (GSM 900/1800/1900 + EDGE) also packs a QVGA screen, stereo Bluetooth support, FM radio, media player, and of course a microSD memory slot. But that's not all, just like the big boys (Sony Ericsson K850i, W910i and the iPhone), the KC550 also packs an accelerometer and even comes with few games that support the use of it!

Lack of 3G may be a deal breaker for some folks, but $350 can't buy you much more, can it?

Fujitsu F906i Released



Fujitsu has just rolled out its F906i cell phone which is hot off the press, offering a uniquely rotating screen that can be viewed in a landscape format for your viewing pleasure. Other notable features include :-

    * microSD/SDHC memory card slot
    * 1-Seg TV tuner
    * Integrated FM radio

One interesting thing about the display is its ability to split, allowing you to watch TV and surf the Internet simultaneously, although I think your eyesight is going to go bust first from such a small display depicting text. Sounds like the phone to have, eh, if only it were available Stateside.

LG Glimmer, Motorola Q9c dummies show up at US Cellular



Hold tight, Alltel -- your US exclusivity on one of your hottest models is just about ready to expire. US Cellular shops are starting to stock up on dummies of the rather lovely LG Glimmer touchscreen slider, and though no official launch date has been announced, we'd imagine it won't be too much longer. Also in the package are a couple colors of Motorola Q9c dummies (including that crazy green one), so yeah, good times. Don't spend all that hard-earned cash in one place, now, y'hear?
