Moggi: Inter Milan should never have been allowed to sign Ibrahimovic

Former Juventus football chief Luciano Moggi has accused Inter Milan of taking advantage of the club's Calciopoli scandal by taking Zlatan Ibrahimovic away from Turin last year.


"Football is not corrupt, it is a business and management works to develop the product. You need to be smart to deal in that environment," said the disgraced former director of sport.

"Inter did not win, but as soon as they got Ibrahimovic he took over the whole team and now they are victorious. I got Ibrahimovic and if I had still been there, I would not have sold him to Inter."

Moggi added: "People hate me because I have won too much. I am not an angel, but there are far more devilish creatures than me. There are those who illegally spy on people and now say that the referees make mistakes in good faith.

"Good faith are two words that have nothing to do with what is happening now, when the referees are making more mistakes than ever."

Mancini respects Del Piero for staying with Juventus

Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini admits he has great respect for those players who chose to stay with Juventus after their demotion last year.


Inter raided Juve for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Patrick Vieira last summer and ahead of today's return to Turin, Mancini said: "Alessandro del Piero and his teammates are playing in a great team, one of the most important in the world.

"They suffered one thing in which, as players, they had nothing to do with. In those times there are those who decide to leave, and have every right to, and those who think it is right to stay because they've been there for many years.

"I do not know if the team is now stronger. I believe that Juventus, and I said this at the start of the league, will fight with us and with other teams until the end for the championship. And I say this because, unlike teams like us, Roma and AC Milan, they do not have Europe and can prepare during the week for the championship.

"This can be an added advantage especially as they are an excellent team."
