Quique: Only Barcelona Play Good Football

Valencia coach Quique Sanchez Flores believes that only Barcelona can lay claim to playing constant, beautiful football.

The Che manager has been under fire recently due to some less than convincing performances from his men, despite their lofty position in the Liga table.

Fans at the Mestalla clearly expect more from their heroes, but Quique insists that nobody - Barcelona aside - is producing great football week in, week out, and even then it's not definitive.

"These days, very few teams are playing well: only Barcelona, and only at times," he shrugged.

Nonetheless, the manager insists that there is room for improvement amongst his own team.

"Aside from tactical concerns, there are major worries regarding our team's need to regain its style," he said, adding that the squad was made to watch videos of their play to see where they're going wrong.

"To correct these errors, pictures are the best way to go about it," he explained.

The embattled former Getafe manager continued, "In terms of results we are stable, but we're not really showing our best at home.

"We want to be the same at home as we are away, and the team to be the same in general."

Valencia visit the Riazor today to meet Deportivo La Coruna, with Quique eyeing another three points.

"As we did before our [winning] match against Recreativo, we'll go to a ground where, on paper, we're the better side, but to face a team that is coming off the back of a good result, this time against Sevilla," said the young boss.

"They'll be motivated to play against Valencia because they're coming off that result and now they want to do the same locally. It'll be very difficult for us."

Quique closed by pointing out that both Vicente and Edu will be available for full first team training next week after their respective injuries have cleared up.

Joan Capdevila has essentially declared an on-form Lionel Messi unstoppable ahead of tomorrow night's meeting between Villarreal and Barcelona at the Madrigal.

The Spanish international defender told Marca, "We all know that he's in the midst of a superb moment of his career, and he's a player above the others. We're starting to see that now.

"That makes him a key players and essential for his team.

"It's clear that when a player's so on form that he becomes difficult to stop."

The left-back arrived at the Madrigal from Deportivo this summer after seven years in A Coruna and, with his new club, is eager to fight at the proper end of the table - starting with a win against Barcelona.

"At home, we need to play a riskier game, as that's how we do things," he said.

"Above all, we want to win and jump to second place in the table."

Santiago Cazorla, the Villarreal winger, chimed in, "This match has come at a good time as we're both in the top three, so it'll be an entertaining game for everyone.

"But for me, Barcelona are the strongest in La Liga, with players such as Messi, Henry, Iniesta, and others who are all excellent.

"Hopefully they'll have an off day and we can get a victory.

"But the players they have show plenty of quality, so we need to be focused to stop them."

The pair kick off at 20:00 local time in Vila-Real tomorrow night.
