DIDIER DROGBA is suffering from severe knee swelling and spent several hours
in hospital on Monday and Tuesday this week.

But medics have yet to determine the cause of the inflammation.

The Chelsea striker will have further tests today - if the swelling has
reduced enough for a scan.

Drogba's knee has caused him pain since the start of the season.

Chelsea's medical staff believed it may have been caused by a tiny piece of
floating bone or cartilage rubbing against the muscle but there has been no
precise diagnosis.

Skipper John Terry had a similar problem which kept him out for three weeks
after keyhole surgery.

It seems highly unlikely the club's leading scorer will be available for
Saturday's match with Sunderland.

But the Blues are more concerned with Sunday week's trip to Arsenal.

CLAUDIO PIZARRO is being investigated by Peruvian football chiefs for
allegedly taking part in an orgy.

The Chelsea striker's future with Peru hangs in the balance as a result.

Captain Pizarro was named, along with some of his international team-mates,
in a TV programme which claimed players took women into their hotel rooms
and drank long into the night.

It is claimed the incident happened just days before Peru were trounced 5-1
by Ecuador in a crucial World Cup qualifier on November 21.

Juvenal Silva, the president of the Commission for Selection of the Peruvian
Federation, opened a formal inquiry after journalist Jaime Bayly made the
allegations.

Silva said: "For those who are involved, this will be the last time they
will wear the national shirt if the allegations are proved.

"I will demand a report from the security chief of the national team to
investigate if the comments of Jaime Bayly are true.

"It's better to investigate so if the allegations prove to be lies the
players can be calm.

"We will also ask the manager Jose del Solar for a written report as to what
happened after the game against Brazil. I am very worried about these
comments because they named names.

"It's for that reason we will investigate which persons were at which floor
of the hotel."

The alleged orgy took place in the luxury hotel Las Inkas where Peru stayed
after a 1-1 draw with Brazil and ahead of their 5-1 loss in Ecuador three
days later. Blues ace Pizarro was also accused of going out until the early
hours throughout that time-frame.

Pizarro, capped 45 times for his country, denies the allegations in private
and insists he has done nothing wrong.

Peru are second-bottom in the South American World Cup qualifying table with
just two points from four games.

Pizarro, 29, signed for Chelsea on a free transfer in the summer from Bayern
Munich but has been restricted to just two league starts and eight
substitute outings.

The Blues last night refused to comment on the story and insisted it is a
matter for Peru's football chiefs.

                                             Naletilić: Branislav Ivanović završit će u Chelseaju

BRANISLAV IVANOVIĆ, branič moskovskog Lokomotiva i srpske reprezentacije, na meti je Chelseaja, kao i oba  gradskih rivala iz Milana, ali čini se da je sve bliže odlasku u Premiership.

Marko Naletilić, zastupnik 23-godišnjeg Ivanovića, koji je u odsustvu Dejana Stankovića nosio i kapetansku vrpcu srpske reprezentacije, tvrdi kako je njegov igrač najbliži prelasku u Chelsea.

"Inter i Milan mogu parirati Chelseaju u financijskim ponudama, međutim, mislim da će moj igrač završiti u Engleskoj", rekao je Naletilić.

Ukoliko se Naletilićeva najava ostvari, to će vjerojatno značiti i propast transfera kojeg je priželjkivao Dario Šimić. Milan je, naime, moskovskom Lokomotivu u zamjenu za Ivanovića bio spreman poslati hrvatskog reprezentativnog stopera kao i financijsku nadoknadu pa bi se Šimićeva želja za promjenom okoline i većom minutažom na travnjaku napokon ostvarila. No, Naletilić je u pravu kad kaže da se Milan ne može konkurirati Abramovičevim milijunima, tako da će Šimić vjerojatno, barem zasad, morati ostati u Milanu.
