SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFPN) -- U.S. Central Command Air Forces officials released today's airpower summary.

Coalition aircraft flew 38 close-air-support missions April 18 for Operation Iraqi Freedom. They included support to coalition troops, infrastructure protection, reconstruction activities, and operations to deter and disrupt terrorist activities.

Air Force F-15 Eagles and F-16 Fighting Falcons provided close air support to coalition troops in contact with anti-Iraqi forces near Al Hawijah, Baquba, Kirkuk and Ramadi.

In addition, 13 Air Force, Navy, Royal Air Force and Royal Australian Air Force intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or ISR, aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Iraq.

In Afghanistan, coalition aircraft flew 25 close-air-support missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. They included support to coalition and Afghan troops, reconstruction activities and presence route patrols.

RAF Harrier GR7s provided close air support to coalition troops in contact with enemy forces near Qalat.

Five Air Force ISR aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Afghanistan.

Air Force C-130 Hercules and C-17 Globemaster IIIs provided intratheater heavy airlift support, helping sustain operations throughout Afghanistan, Iraq and the Horn of Africa. They flew 170 airlift sorties, delivered 485 tons of cargo and transported 2,800 passengers.

Coalition C-130 crews from Australia, Canada and South Korea flew in support of either OIF or OEF.

On April 17 Air Force and RAF tankers flew 24 sorties and off-loaded almost 1.6 million pounds of fuel.

SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFPN) -- U.S. Central Command Air Forces officials released today's airpower summary.

In Afghanistan April 20, coalition aircraft flew 22 close-air-support missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. They included support to coalition and Afghan troops, reconstruction activities and presence route patrols.

Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt IIs provided close air support to  coalition troops in contact with enemy forces near Asadabad, in continued support of Operation Mountain Lion. The A-10s successfully struck enemy positions with cannon rounds and general-purpose 500-pound bombs.

Also, an Air Force B-52 Stratofortress provided close air support to coalition troops near Deh Rawood. The B-52 successfully struck several enemy positions with precision-guided JDAMs.

In addition, Air Force A-10s and Royal Air Force Harrier GR7s provided close air support to coalition troops in contact with enemy forces near Gardez and Orgun-E.

Five Air Force intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or ISR, aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Afghanistan.

In Iraq, Coalition aircraft flew 40 close-air-support missions for Operation Iraqi Freedom. They included support to coalition troops, infrastructure protection, reconstruction activities, and operations to deter and disrupt terrorist activities.

In addition, 12 Air Force, Navy and RAF ISR aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Iraq. Also, Air Force fighter aircraft flew in a non-traditional ISR role with their electro-optical and infrared sensors.

They flew 195 airlift sorties, transported 2,135 passengers and delivered 575 tons of cargo including 12,000 pounds of troop re-supply air-dropped in Afghanistan in support of Operation Mountain Lion.

On April 19 Air Force and RAF tankers flew 32 sorties and off-loaded almost 2.1 million pounds of fuel.

April 24
Coalition aircraft flew 52 close-air-support missions April 23 for Operation Iraqi Freedom. These missions included support to coalition troops, infrastructure protection, reconstruction activities and operations to deter and disrupt terrorist activities.

Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcons and Royal Air Force GR-4 Tornadoes provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with anti-Iraqi forces near Al Mahmudiyah and Samarra.

In addition, 15 Air Force, Navy, Royal Air Force and Royal Australian Air Force intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or ISR, aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Iraq. Also, Air Force and Navy fighter aircraft performed in a non-traditional ISR role with their electro-optical and infrared sensors.

In Afghanistan, coalition aircraft flew 28 close-air-support missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. These missions included support to coalition and Afghan troops, reconstruction activities and route patrols.

Royal Air Force GR-7 Harriers provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with enemy forces near Tarin Kowt.

Eight Air Force ISR aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Afghanistan.

Air Force C-130 Hercules and C-17 Globemaster IIIs provided intra-theater heavy airlift support, helping sustain operations throughout Afghanistan, Iraq and the Horn of Africa. They flew 175 airlift sorties, delivered 390 tons of cargo and transported 2,776 passengers.

Coalition C-130 crews from Australia and Canada flew in support of either OIF or OEF.

Air Force F-15s and Navy F/A-18s provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with anti-Iraqi forces near Al Fathah, Al Iskandariyah, Al Mahmudiyah, Balad and Baquba.

In addition, 16 Air Force, Navy and Royal Air Force ISR aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Iraq. Also, Navy fighter aircraft performed in a non-traditional ISR role with their electro-optical and infrared sensors.

In Afghanistan, coalition aircraft flew 20 close-air-support missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. These missions included support to coalition and Afghan troops, reconstruction activities and route patrols.

Six Air Force and Royal Air Force ISR aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Afghanistan.

Air Force C-130s and C-17s provided intra-theater heavy airlift support, helping sustain operations throughout Afghanistan, Iraq and the Horn of Africa. They flew 200 airlift sorties, delivered 470 tons of cargo and transported 2,230 passengers.

SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFPN) -- U.S. Central Command Air Forces officials released today's airpower summary.

In Iraq April 25, coalition forces killed 12 terrorists during a raid of a foreign terrorist safe house. Upon arrival at the target, coalition ground troops came under direct fire and called for an air strike to neutralize the enemy. An F-16 Fighting Falcon successfully delivered a Paveway II precision-guided munition against the target.

A later search of the destroyed safe house recovered the bodies of several terrorists, each wearing an AK-47 vest, two loaded magazines and two grenades. Body bombs and weapons, including a shoulder-fired rocket, were also found, as was a suicide note on one of the terrorists.

The target was located approximately 8 kilometers Northeast of the location where a U.S. Apache helicopter crashed April 1.

In total, coalition aircraft flew 52 close-air-support missions for Operation Iraqi Freedom. They included support to coalition troops, infrastructure protection, reconstruction activities, and operations to deter and disrupt terrorist activities.

Air Force F-16s and Navy F/A-18 Hornets provided close air support to coalition troops in contact with anti-Iraqi forces near Baghdad, Al Iskandariyah and Ramadi.

In addition, 14 Air Force, Navy, and Royal Air Force intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or ISR, aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Iraq. Also, Air Force and Navy fighter aircraft flew in a non-traditional ISR role with their electro-optical and infrared sensors.

In Afghanistan, an Air Force B-52 Stratofortress provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with enemy forces near Asadabad. The B-52 successfully expended precision-guided JDAMs against enemy forces, ending the engagement.

In Oruzgan, an Air Force B-52 and Royal Air Force Harrier GR7s provided close air support to coalition troops under enemy fire. The B-52 successfully expended precision-guided JDAMs against enemy forces.

In Tarin Kowt and Asadabad, an Air Force B-52 provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with enemy forces. The B-52 successfully expended precision-guided JDAMs against enemy forces.

In Afghanistan, an Air Force B-52 and A-10 Thunderbolt IIs provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with enemy forces near Asadabad. An A-10 successfully expended a general purpose 500-pound bomb against an enemy force in armed conflict with coalition forces, bringing the engagement to an end.

In other action, A-10s dropped two precision-guided weapons and fired their 30mm cannon at an insurgent hideout at the request of a ground commander.

In total, coalition aircraft flew 25 close-air-support missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. They included support to coalition and Afghan troops, reconstruction activities and presence route patrols.

Air Force A-10s and RAF GR7s also provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with enemy forces near Shkin and Tarin Kowt.

Eight Air Force and RAF ISR aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Afghanistan.

Coalition aircraft flew 58 close-air-support missions for Operation Iraqi Freedom. They included support to coalition troops, infrastructure protection, reconstruction activities, and operations to deter and disrupt terrorist activities.

Air Force F-16s and Navy F/A-18s provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with anti-Iraqi forces near Kirkuk.

In addition, 14 Air Force, Navy and RAF ISR aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Iraq. Also, Air Force and Navy fighter aircraft flew in a non-traditional ISR role with their electro-optical and infrared sensors.

Air Force C-130s and C-17s provided intratheater heavy airlift support, helping sustain operations throughout Afghanistan, Iraq and the Horn of Africa. They flew 150 airlift sorties, delivered 490 tons of cargo and transported 2,110 passengers.

Coalition C-130 crews from Australia, Japan and South Korea flew in support of either OIF or OEF.

Air Force and RAF tankers flew 31 sorties and off-loaded more than 2.5 million pounds of fuel.

In Iraq, a Navy F/A-18 successfully struck enemy forces attempting to place an improvised explosive device, killing two insurgents with a Maverick missile. The F/A-18s were providing close-air support to coalition troops near Al Miqdadiyah.

Also, Navy F/A-18s and RAF Tornado GR4s provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with anti-Iraqi forces near Al Mahmudiyah, Bayji, Ramadi and Tikrit.

In total, coalition aircraft flew 54 close-air-support missions for Operation Iraqi Freedom. They included support to coalition troops, infrastructure protection, reconstruction activities, and operations to deter and disrupt terrorist activities.

In addition, 16 Air Force, Navy and RAF ISR aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Iraq. Also, Air Force and Navy fighter aircraft flew in a non-traditional ISR role with their electro-optical and infrared sensors.

In Afghanistan, coalition aircraft flew 24 close-air-support missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. They included support to coalition and Afghan troops, reconstruction activities and presence route patrols.

Four Air Force ISR aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Afghanistan.

Air Force C-130s and C-17s provided intratheater heavy airlift support, helping sustain operations throughout Afghanistan, Iraq and the Horn of Africa. They flew 165 airlift sorties, delivered 480 tons of cargo and transported 2,830 passengers.

Coalition C-130 crews from Australia, Canada, Japan and South Korea flew in support of either OIF or OEF.

On April 27, Air Force and RAF tankers flew 30 sorties and off-loaded more than 2 million pounds of fuel.

CENTAF releases air power summary

SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFPN) -- U.S. Central Command Air Forces officials released today's air power summary.

Coalition aircraft flew 34 close-air-support missions May 1 for Operation Iraqi Freedom. They included support to coalition troops, infrastructure protection, reconstruction activities, and operations to deter and disrupt terrorist activities.

Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcons provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with anti-Iraqi forces near Al Iskandariyah and Baghdad.

In addition, 12 Air Force and Navy and Royal Air Force intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, or ISR, aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Iraq.

In Afghanistan, coalition aircraft flew 22 close-air-support missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. They included support to coalition and Afghan troops, reconstruction activities and presence route patrols.

An Air Force B-52 Stratofortress, A-10 Thunderbolt IIs and RAF Harrier GR7s provided close-air support to coalition troops in contact with enemy forces near Bagram, Gereshk and Kandahar.

Four Air Force ISR aircraft flew missions in support of operations in Afghanistan.

Air Force C-130 Hercules and C-17 Globemaster IIIs provided intratheater heavy airlift support, helping sustain operations throughout Afghanistan, Iraq and the Horn of Africa. They flew 170 airlift sorties, delivered 405 tons of cargo and transported 3,010 passengers.

Coalition C-130 crews from Australia, Japan and South Korea flew in support of either OIF or OEF.

On April 30, Air Force and RAF tankers flew 40 sorties and off-loaded almost 3.1 million pounds of fuel.
