Ekipa Borusije iz Dortmunda prekinula je niz od tri poraza zaredom, pošto je u prvom meču devetog kola Bundes lige u petak nadigrala na svom terenu Bohum sa 2:1.

Domaći su poveli preko Tinge u 17. minutu, ali su gosti deset minuta pre kraja prvog poluvremena uspeli da izjednače.

Bod u džepu Bohum je imao sve do 70. minuta, vešto iskoristivši brojčanu prednost, budući da je Verns u 58. minutu zaradio crveni karton, ali su domaćini onda uspeli preko Federika da stignu do novog pogotka i na kraju slave.

Bohum je tako produžio neslavnu tradiciju, dugu 19 godina, bez pobede u Dortmundu, ali i lošu seriju ove sezone, upisavši šesti poraz zaredom.

Borusija je ovim trijumfom stigla na polovinu tabele sa ukupno 12 bodova, dok je Bohum na 14. mestu sa devet sakupljenih bodova.

U ostalim mečevima devetog kola Bundeslige, koji su na programu u subotu, sastaju se Arminija - Hamburg, Duizburg - Verder, Herta - Kotbus, Šalke - Karlsrue, Štutgart - Hanover i Volfsburg - Hanza, dok će u nedelju snage odmeriti Bajern - Nirnberg i Ajntraht - Bajer Leverkuzen.

[10.10.] Borussia Dortmund will participate in SV Wehen-Wiesbaden´s opening match for their new stadium on Thursday. Kickoff is planned for 8:15 PM CET. The Bundesliga club will be travelling dealing with a tight personnel situation. "Unfortunately, none of our injured players will be back on the roster by tomorrow", explained Director of Sport Michael Zorc.

Players who already missed the Bochum match were Kuba (muscle injuries), Petric (slight muscle tear in the adductor region/international duty), Valdez (shoulder injury), Buckley (ligament), Frei (torn calf muscle), Degen (adductor problems) and Kehl (fitness training after knee problems) are not available. Also not available are Marc Ziegler, Dede (both are ill) and Roman Weidenfeller, who is being held out of the match after suffering shoulder problems. Amateur goalkeeper Marc Höttecke will possibly be in the BVB goal, although he must play tonight in the Regional League for BVB II. Thomas Doll cannot simply strengthen his roster with players from Theo Schneider´s BVB II team because he cannot use those players who play a good amount of time against Lübeck tonight.

Gordon And Federico Score - 2-1 BVB Victory In Wiesbaden

 
[11.10.] On Thursday evening, BVB traveled to Wiesbaden to inaugurate the new "Brita Arena." Although they were missing eleven players, the Bundesliga club managed a 2-1 away victory over SV Wehen-Wiesbaden, currently the third placed team in the Second Bundesliga. Daniel Gordon and Giovanni Federico scored for BVB.
 

Because of injuries and players called to international duty, Thomas Doll only had five regulars in Wörns, Kringe, Tinga, Brzenska and Federico at his disposal. Doll filled in the team with amateur players who did not play ninety minutes yesterday in BVB II´s 1-0 win over VfB Lübeck. The well-known names on the injury list were joined tonight by Ziegler, Weidenfeller, Dede and just before the match due to back problems, Klimowicz. So, for the first time since the summer pre-season matches, BVB played in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Tyrala as the lone striker up front. The youngster had a huge chance to score the opening goal for BVB in the forty-fifth minute, but he was foiled by the goalkeeper. Just three minutes before, right back Eggert had BVB´s first shot on goal in a very even match.

After halftime, the second division team, who changed their team completely, applied more pressure and acted with more purpose. Nicu was the player causing the most unrest. Because of this, Dortmund ´s opening goal was a bit of a surprise. After a Vrzogic free kick in the sixty-fifth minute, Gordon came free behind the defense and poked the ball in to give BVB the lead. Eight minutes later, following a quick combination from Gordon and Tyrala, Federico scored a second goal for BVB. However, Wehen fought their way back into the match and about fifteen minutes before the end, Wehen defender Kopilas scored. Afterwards, Borussia had to deal with some heavy situations, but were quite happy with their success at the end. "We were very organized as our defensive work showed, but there was not much to see offensively", said coach Doll. "Overall, we did not have many good scenes."
