Apple iOS 4.3 Likely Coming Next Week, May Correspond with iPad 2 Launch

It would be hard to believe that the timing of anything Apple does is just dumb luck. With the big iPad 2 launch event coming on March 2, it’s no surprise to us that we’re seeing several new items of business coming down the pipeline. In addition to seeing some big changes in the MobileMe service, we are also hearing from BGR that Apple is now finalizing the GM (Golden Master) code for iOS 4.3, paving the way for full release sometime next week.

The build is 8F190, and is rumored to feature mobile hotspots for AT&T’s iPhone 4. While new multitouch gestures were tested out in some of the betas, Apple mentioned that this was simply a test build to help measure developer reaction, and will not be included in the final version. As for other features, we’re also hoping to see additional wireless AirPlay features reminiscent of DLNA.



Typically the GM seed of a new OS update becomes available for developers roughly a week before it gets sent out to the general public. We hope this is the case and that we’ll see the new update ready to go for the March 2 event.

Verizon iPhone 4 not recommended by Consumer Reports as well



Consumer Reports has recently announced that the Verizon iPhone 4 didn’t make their list of recommended phones. Why? The same reason as before – the whole antenna-gate issue that made the AT&T iPhone 4 famous when it was released. The Verizon iPhone 4 is also prone to drop calls in certain areas, according to Consumer Reports. Here’s what they had to say: “The Verizon iPhone 4 closely resembles the original AT&T iPhone 4 in many positive respects, including offering great multimedia functionality, a sharp screen, and the best MP3 player we’ve seen on a phone…Unfortunately, it also shares with its sibling the possibility of compromised performance in low-signal conditions when used without a bumper or case.” But regardless of what they said about the first iPhone 4, that didn’t stop it from being the one of the hottest selling phones in the world.

Publisher’s note: either way, customers just don’t seem to care.

iPhone 5 part surfaces, shows larger display and thinner bezel?



A purported image of an iPhone 5 part has appeared on a Chinese reseller of Apple parts’ website. Specifically, this part may be the digitizer panel for the fifth generation iPhone’s touch screen. The part’s design appears to be similar to that of the one found on the current iPhone 4, and past iPhone models, but the screen cutout of the panel appears to be much larger. No measurements for this cutout have been posted, but the cutout could be for a four-inch display, and this matches up with reports from Apple’s production lines in Asia.

Apple is said to be working on a “completely re-designed” iPhone for debut in Summer 2011 with a four-inch display to take on the larger screens found on some of the latest smartphones running Google’s Android operating system. Apple’s next generation iPhone is said to cost less and might feature a new integrated SIM card to be easily configurable on any supported carrier. The iPhone 5 may also carry an upgraded A4 processor, already dubbed the A5 chip, in addition to a new Gobi WWAN chip already found in the Verizon iPhone, designed to work on both CDMA and GSM networks.

The purported iPhone digitizer (above) also appears to have a thinner bezel on all sides: right, left, top, and bottom. This matches up well with a well-sourced report claiming that the next smartphone from Apple will feature an edge-to-edge display. This would allow Apple to increase the display’s size, while keeping the actual device’s size the same or even smaller. Information about this rumored display’s resolution is yet to surface, but one concept pegs the rumored 4 inch display to stay “Retina” with the new bottom portion being a stationary control switch bar for iOS multitasking.

Meni je veoma drago sto razmisljaju kako da se poveca ekran i da zadrze iste dimenzije telefona sto kod ostalih nije slucaj, u poslednje vreme redjaju cigle za ciglom pa jos malo ce preci u blokove
