MILAN - Francesco Gattuso, the second child of Rino and Monica, was born this morning at 11.31am. The newborn saw the light at the hospital of Varese and at the moment of his birth his weight was 3.5kg. We wish all the best to our champion and the mum of Francesco, Mrs. Monica, from all the Milanisti and football fans.

Sky Italia: Kaka Wins The Golden Ball
It's not yet official - but it's close. Sky Italia reported late last night that Kaka has won the 2007 Ballon d'Or award for individual excellence in football...

Sky Italia has reported that Kaka is the winner of the 2007 Golden Ball (Ballon d'Or) award.

The prestigious prize, awarded by France Football magazine, is given to the the World Footballer of the Year as judged by a panel of footballing journalists.

This year, it seems that Kaka has run away with it and, under cover of darkness, he was told last night.

So, too, were his club, AC Milan, and that seems to be the source of the leak. The rossoneri were informed so as to allow them to make preparations for Kaka's presence at the imminent awards ceremony.

As such, Sky Italia said after midnight, "Kaka is the new winner of the Golden Ball, with Milan now making preparations for the player to travel to pick up first prize in Japan."

In the morning, Tuttosport added, "Kaka is the Golden Ball winner, as announced by [AC Milan vice-president Adriano] Galliani."

Perhaps it's not official, then, but it seems that Kaka is indeed in line to lift football's greatest individual prize.

He will inherit the award from Fabio Cannavaro, who beat Gigi Buffon and Thierry Henry to the prize last year, and in doing so will become the first AC Milan player to lift the trophy since Andriy Shevchenko in 2004.

At this time, it is unknown how many votes Kaka received, and who will receive the awards for second and third place. Selecting from a final shortlist of 50, each eligible journalist votes for five players in decreasing order of preference, with the two runners-up also gaining recognition.

However, first place is the real prize, and it seems that it belongs to Kaka.

Spanish Press: Milan Want Sergio Ramos
Spanish sports daily Marca contends that AC Milan are interested in securing the services of Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos...

According to Marca, Sergio Ramos (pictured) could be Silvio Berlusconi's latest acquisition as AC Milan president.

The newspaper reports that Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has specifically requested Ramos' services, with the rossoneri hierarchy now seriously plotting a move.

Ramos, 21, arrived at the Bernabeu in 2005 from Sevilla for 27 million euros and has since established himself as perhaps the most consistent defender at the capital club.

Able to play either on the right or in the centre, Ramos is known not only for his skill but also his stamina; while other players succumbed to rotation earlier in the season, he frequently played both weekend and weekday matches every seven days until picking up a minor injury.

With Milan having an aging squad, and also a struggling side at present, Ramos would most certainly prove a young, able addition to their pool.

However, Ramos is hot property, and always has been. Indeed, back in 2005 Milan were among those competing for his signature, and as such his stock is rising.

Consequently, Madrid have tied the player down with a 150 million euro release clause, not to mention a contract that runs until 2013.

As such, Marca believes that a straight cash bid is out of the question. Instead, only a part-exchange negotiation would do. What's more, they ask whether or not Kaka could prove to be the essential bargaining chip.

Milan je u potražnji za golmanom koji će među vratnicama zamijeniti Didu, a najbliže tom mjestu je Villarealov golman Diego Lopez. On je ponikao u omladinskom pogodu Real Madrida u kojem je igrao sve do prošle sezone, a bio je godinama pričuva Ikeru Casillasu pored kojega se nije uspio izboriti u početnom sastavu Real Madrida.

On je visoko rangiran golman, sa sjajnim refleksima, a uspoređuju ga sa Manchester Unitedovim golanom van der Saarom, po stilu branjenja i po visini. U Villareal je došao za 8 milijuna eura početkom ove sezone, a i sam je progovorio par riječi o ovom mogućem transferu.

"Ukoliko se za vas zanima Milan, znači da radite dobar posao i to vam je samo poticaj u kojem želite biti još bolji. Onaj tko kaže da nebi volio ići u Milan definitivno laže, a i trenutno nisam upoznat sa svim detaljima no istina je da me traže. Trenutno u Villarealu uživam i vidjeti ćemo kako će ovo završiti."
