GIANFRANCO ZOLA is set to unveil £9million striker Savio Nsereko as Craig Bellamy’s replacement on Monday.
The West Ham boss has immediately invested a huge chunk of the £14m received from the sale of Bellamy to Manchester City. The fee for Ugandan-born Nsereko will top the club record of £7.5m paid to Liverpool for Bellamy. Zola ran a personal check on the Brescia star after director of football Gianluca Nani identified the German Under-19 star. Nani worked with Nsereko, 19, when he was in charge at Brescia and has gone back to grab one of Europe’s emerging talents. Zola takes his side to Hartlepool for the FA Cup fourth round clash on Saturday. The ex-Rangers forward, 28, has agreed a deal until the end of the season at St James' Park. He left German club Schalke earlier this month after his contract was terminated by mutual consent. Lovenkrands said: "I'm delighted to sign a deal until the end of the season. "I now just can't wait for my debut at Man City next week."

City are bidding to snatch the player from under their bitter rivals’ noses but the Eastlands club may have to match Veloso’s get-out clause of £28m. A source close to Veloso said: “We know City have made an offer and the club are considering it. “It all depends on whether Sporting will demand City pay the get-out clause of the player.”

The Rosanero could finally be set to make an official bid for the Brazilian player Nilmar according to the latest reports.
Many of Europe’s top clubs have expressed their interest in Internacional’s Nilmar Honorato da Silva over the past few months. The 24-year-old has been in phenomenal touch this term, and thus many clubs are willing to pay significant amounts to attain his services. The player has been tracked by clubs including Roma, Real Madrid and Palermo, the latter being the most likely to attain his services at this point in time. Nilmar has had some experience in Europe previously, when he spent some time in France with Lyon a few years ago; however he now seems ready to return to the biggest stage, and give it a second chance, with Sicily being the possible point of arrival for the young striker. According to Sportsmediaset, the Rosanero have increased their offer from earlier in the season from €15 million to €18 million, with the hope of signing the 24-yeard-old prior to the conclusion of this transfer period. Despite this though, the player’s agent has confirmed that the Sicilians are not alone in their pursuit for his client, as there are some other clubs, from the United Arab Emirates in particular, that have also expressed their interest more recently. “There are several interested clubs, however I can assure everyone that this will all be finalised on Monday,” the agent Orlando da Hora declared. Palermo are yet to officially make the bid, however at this point, they remain in a good position to finally sign the young attacker.
