Leonard Nimoy, glumac koji je osvojio svetsku publiku ulogom Mr. Spocka u megapopularnoj seriji Star Trek, preminuo je 83. godini života u svom domu u Los Angelesu.
Njegova supruga Susan Bay Nimoy potvrdila je da je Nimoy preminuo kazavši da je uzrok smrti poslednji stadijum hronične opstruktivne bolesti pluća.
Glumac je prošle godine objavio da je bolestan, a bolest pluća je pripisvao dugogodišnjem konzumiranju cigareta.
Nimoy se osim glumom bavio fotografijom, a pisao je poeziju i komponovao filmsku muziku, ali zahvaljujući ulozi Mr. Spocka postao je nacionalni heroj.
