Amancio Amaro is widely considered as the greatest Spanish right-winger ever. He was transferred from Deportivo La Coruna to Real Madrid after the decade of the Galacticos had already ended and they mostly had Spanish players in the squad. Cliff Jones was widely considered as the best left winger in the world at his era. Jones first played League football for Billy McCandless' Swansea Town. In 1952, He appeared only 25 times as a winger for the club before being called into the Welsh national side. Jones was part of the Wales side that beat England 2-1 at Ninian Park in 1955 and always credited the winner he scored as his best ever goal. He traveled to Sweden with the side for the 1958 FIFA World Cup where Wales did so well, losing, agonisingly to Brazil via a goal that Stuart Williams deflected beyond Jack Kelsey. He was bought for Tottenham Hotspur in 1958 and quickly became an indispensable part of the development of that team, eventually scored more than 200 goals during his career.

Giampiero Boniperti was the greatest Italian footballer during the 1950s. With 182 goals in all-competitions, he was the highest goalscorer in Juventus' history for more than 40 years, until his record was bested by Alessandro Del Piero on 10 January 2006. Notably, he is the tenth-highest goalscorer of all-time in Serie A. Boniperti signed for Juventus at age 16, he had already built himself a reputation prior to this at youth level, as he scored 11 goals in one match. At a try-out in which he scored seven goals, journalist Carlin proclaimed; "A boy wonder is born to Juve". Although he began as a centre forward he was a flexible player, and could play also as an inside forward or on the right wing. However, in 1957 La Vecchia Signora signed two forwards; John Charles and Omar Sivori, along with them Boniperti would be a part of what was referred to as "the Magical Trio". The three players excelled impeccably together.

Piet Keizer and Johan Cruijff were known as the "royal pair", or "the starter and the finisher". Keizer had a gift for not being noticed, but then striking with uncanny precision. His hallmark moment came in the European Cup final in 1972, when Keizer crossed the ball with a deadly precision and Cruijff only had to tap it in. Keizer was, for much of his career, in the shadow of his famous team member Johan Cruijff, but still some experts say Keizer was a better player then Cruijff was. An argument brought to an end the combination of Keizer and Cruijff in 1974, and Cruijff left for Barcelona leaving Keizer with Ajax. It would turn out to be the final season for Piet Keizer. With the Dutch national team, He played for the Dutch team that finished as runner-ups in the 1974 FIFA World Cup, although he had a minor role. The one reason was due to his already 31 year old of age and his speed had gone down.
