Speaking of his role in the FIA and his friendship with Bernie Ecclestone, he once said: "My job as president of the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile isn't paid. But I've done business with Bernie outside Formula One. In property mainly.

"Money doesn't turn me on and I like to think I can leave whenever I want."

Money doesn't have to turn him on—he's already rich. A multi-millionaire, he has a base in Monaco and a £3 million home in London's fashionable Chelsea.

As well as inheriting from his father and mother—society beauty and Nazi sympathiser Diana Mitford—he made a fortune selling his shares in March Engineering in 1977.

But the shadow of his Nazi father is always in the background. Mosley Jnr once claimed his father—who died in 1980—disliked Hitler, thinking him "over the top", but he admitted Oswald admired Italian dictator Benito Mussolini.

He said of his mother, who died in 2003: "It was true she liked Hitler. Apparently he was an enormously attractive personality."

Iako je Mosley u početku dobio podršku prvog čoveka Formule 1, Bernie Ecclestone mu je ipak poručio da ne dolazi na Veliku nagradu Bahreina.

Mosley je prvobitno, nakon izbijanja skandala, izjavio da će se i dalje ponašati kao da se ništa nije desilo. Međutim, Ecclestone smatra da bi trebalo još jednom da razmisli o kompletnoj situaciji. Javnost je većim delom zgrožena, a Bernie smatra da ni kraljevska porodica Bahreina ne bi želela da on dolazi u ovu zemlju.

Mediji su posebna priča, jer je realno očekivati da će veću pažnju posvetiti ljubitelju erotskih igrarija nego samoj trci, što nikako ne prija sponzorima. Sad pročitah da su Mercedes i BMW izasli sa zajedničkom izjavom u kojoj osudjuju Max Mosley-a i pozivaju FIA-u da reaguje tj. da ga smeni, a kasnije su se i Honda i Toyota pridruzile osudama... Jedva cekam da mu vidim ledja, dok je on bio na čelu FIA-e pretvorio je F1 u dosadan sport, takodje je vodio hajku protiv Mclarena i Rona Denisa koga posebno mrzi, a sada je u mnogo goroj poziciji nego on prosle godine  posle špijunskog skandala...
