Glu's Age of Empires III Now Available On the N-Gage Platform!



Glu Mobile Inc., a leading global publisher of mobile games, remains focused on delivering some of the most popular games in their portfolio to Nokia's gaming platform and their first game for N-Gage gamers, Age of Empires III, has been released on N-Gage by Nokia.

This is the first ever multiplayer real-time strategy game on N-Gage and the latest to launch in the successful Age of Empires franchise on mobile phones.

As usually, all you have to do is navigate to the Showroom tab, select 'Update Now' and it should appear at the head of the available games list.

Alternately you may download it from the Website, it should be available for download from the Website within the next few hours.

Age of Empires III (also known as AOE III) is a real-time strategy (RTS) game developed by Ensemble Studios and published by Microsoft Game Studios.

Released on October 18, 2005 in North America, and on November 4 of the same year in Europe, it is the third title of the Age of Empires series, and the sequel to Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings. The game portrays the European colonization of the Americas, between approximately AD 1500 and 1850 (Expanded with TWC to 1876). Eight European civilizations are playable.

Age of Empires III has made a number of innovations in the series, as well as the RTS genre, in particular with the addition of the Home City, which combines real-time strategy and role-playing game (RPG) features. Two expansion packs were released: the first, Age of Empires III: The War Chiefs, was released on October 17, 2006, and introduced three Native North American civilizations; the second, Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties, was released on October 23, 2007, and included three Asian civilizations.

Players begin with a constructed town center or a wagon, an explorer and several settlers. The exact terrain of the map, position of opponents, native tribes and trade posts is obscured. Teammates, if any, are exposed, allowing you to see what they can, and vice-versa. Players explore the map and begin gathering resources (Food, Coin or Wood) which are spent to build additional units and buildings and to research upgrades or technologies.

Actions such as training units, constructing buildings, killing enemy units etc earn the player experience points. At certain experience point thresholds, players earn shipment cards that may be turned in for shipments from the players Home City, which can include units, an upgrade, or resources. The game progresses like any RTS until one side resigns or is eliminated. Elimination occurs when all of a player's units and unit-producing structures are destroyed.

Electronic Arts' Spore Origins Coming Soon To N-Gage Platform!



Couple of months back, Nokia and Electronic Arts announced that Wright's Spore Origins, a Strategy game developed by Tricky Software will be making its way to the Nokia N-Gage platform and now it seems that they'll finally get Spore into the hands of N-Gage players!

The game has just been added in the N-Gage's 'Coming soon' section and gets its own page which means that soon you’ll be able to play the Spore Origins on the N-Gage compatible devices.

It will be probably 'dumbed down' and take the very different form to fit on mobile phones. There are also some platform limitations and they'll pull out some parts of the game, but it is still good news that we’ll be able to play some sort of the game on our mobile phones.

According to EA Mobile™, "The game takes full advantage of the NGage functionality whilst allowing players to manouvere their way through a world made of primordial ooze. Spore™ Origins will sit alongside other EA titles already launched on N-Gage, such as Tetris®, The Sims 2™ Pets and EA SPORTS™ FIFA 08."

According to Nokia, you'll be able to "Customize your SPORE™ from a single cell to a complex predator, increasing its chance of survival as you rise through 18 interactive levels. Gather food in vivid undersea worlds filled with bizarre organisms, but be careful, you will need to avoid larger and more lethal creatures. Does your SPORE™ have what it takes to survive?"

Spore is a multi-genre "massively single-player online game" developed by Maxis and designed by Will Wright. It allows a player to control the evolution of a species from its beginnings as a unicellular organism, through development as an intelligent and social creature, to interstellar exploration as a spacefaring culture. It has drawn wide attention for its massive scope, and its use of open-ended gameplay and procedural generation.

I da neko zna to nece moci na ovom forumu

Imam problem sa Bounce Boing Voyage, kad predjem prvi level nema sanse da udjem u drugi. Ispise mi Loading failed/ Please restart the game and try again. Probao sam da reinstalliram aplikaciju ali ne pomaze, jel zna neko u cemu je problem?

Mozemo da se dogovorimo da ti posaljem igru, ne znam kako drugacije da ti pomognem... Mozda je tvoja neka losa beta verzija ili tako nesto... Mozda je i neki tezi softverski problem u pitanju, mada, opet - ko zna?! Meni se, recimo jako cesto desava da se N Gage jednostavno resetuje tokom igranja. Najvise mi se to desavalo na Prince of Persia igri, a igru sam legalno nabavio i instalirao preko racunara. To je vrlo frustrirajuce, s obzirom na to da su neki nivoi izuzetno teski za prelazenje i sakupljanje bodova. Takodje, veoma cesto mi se telefon zakuca kada se logujem na Arenu preko Wi-Fi veze. Kada idem preko GSM ili 3G konekcije mogu da prekinem povezivanje pritiskom na crvenu slusalicu, ali kod WLANa to ne pomaze... Cujemo se! :-)

Probao sam vise verzija i uvek mi se to javlja, ostale n-gage igrice sljakaju normalno samo ova baguje... 

Probaj da skines zadnju verziju N Gage aplikacije mislim da su nesto popravili u vezi te igre.

Nokia N97, N86 8GB, E52 all get N-Gage compatibility



Quick, what's easier to find: an E52 or a game that'll run on it? You'd think this is an egregious case of putting the cart before the horse, but you've got to give the N-Gage team credit for being well-prepared -- they're already listing Nokia's new mega-thin business candybar as being compatible with the service. Also on board is the just-released (and still hard to find in many parts of the world) N86 8MP and -- perhaps most notably -- the N97, making the beastly handset Nokia's first S60 5th Edition phone with N-Gage support. Farewell N-Gage - Nokia to shutter gaming service



In a low key announcement, via the N-Gage blog, comes the news that Nokia plans to shutter its N-Gage gaming service. Nokia say they will 'no longer publish new games for the N-Gage platform'; instead games will be provided via its Ovi Store service. Current N-Gage games can be purchased until September 2010 and the N-Gage website and Arena service (online elements) will be available throughout 2010.

The closure of the N-Gage service is a blow to Nokia's service ambitions. However it is also fair to say that N-Gage really pre-dated the Ovi strategy. As a result, in both vision and execution, it did not fit fully fit into the Ovi service portfolio, especially after the launch of Ovi Store earlier this year.

Clearly Nokia will look to push its gaming strategy forward under the Ovi Store umbrella, but it is a long way from both dedicated gaming unit (N-Gage first generation) and a gaming focused platform and community (N-Gage second generation). N-Gage was never able to move beyond a niche community. Its ease of distribution advantages has been overtaken by the rise of App Stores; similarly online service elements are now relatively common. Furthermore the lack of graphic acceleration hardware in recent Nokia S60 phones have left N-Gage games looking lacklustre, in eye-candy terms, when compared to the iPhone and other mobile gaming platforms.
Key points

    * Nokia will no longer publish new games via the N-Gage service. Instead games will be made available via the Ovi Store. Nokia term this an 'evolution of their mobile gaming service', but there's no getting away from the fact that represents a failure of the N-Gage service.

    * The N-Gage application will continue to ship on some older devices. However new devices will not ship with the N-Gage application.

    * Nokia's future gaming strategy will be based on Ovi Store distribution.

      Nokia are 'actively working on offering more community elements through Ovi' and will 'encourage developers to use community features in their applications'. This suggests Nokia will, in the future, offer common community / online elements, perhaps based on N-Gage technology, to developers publishing their games through the Ovi Store.
