Raikonen propušta sledeću sezonu F1, Baton u Meklarenu




Bivši vozač Ferarija Kimi Raikonen propustiće sledeću sezonu Formule jedan da bi se okušao u reliju, dok je šampion Dženson Baton potpisao za Meklaren.

Raikonen je pre potpisivanja Batona pregovarao sa Meklarenom ali dogovor nije postignut, jer je Finac tražio previše novca. 

"Ako kojim slučajem budem vozio i sledeće sezone, to sigurno neću činiti u nekoj maloj ekipi jer su moje ambicije šampionske. Zbog toga ću ako treba odmarati godinu dana, kako bi 2011. godine bio deo nekog od timova koji budu imali velike planove", rekao je Raikonen kojem nije dugo trebalo da se snađe budući da je odlučio da naredne sezone učestvuje u šampionatu sveta u reliju.

Dvadesetdevetogodišnji Baton je na gotovo neverovatan način završio sezonu koju je počeo praktično bez angažmana.
"Teško je napustiti tim sa kojim ste osvojili šampionsku titulu, ali ja uvek tražim nove izazove i zato sam odlučio da prihvatim ponudu Meklarena. Radi se o jednoj od najtrofejnijih ekipa u istoriji našeg sporta i smatrao sam da to ne smem da propustim", rekao je Baton nakon potpisivanja ugovora.

Mclaren definitivno zeli svoje motore. I verovatno cemo videti Mclaren motore od 2016.

Evo bas ovaj novi automobil sto sad izbacuju mp4 12 je prvi mclaren sa motorom made by Mclaren.
Oni tek pocinju da istrazuju na tom polju. Taman ce za 5 godina biti spremni
Pitanje je koliko je taj motor zaista made by McL. Za konstruisanje (ovakvog) motora treba iskustvo, i proizvodni kapaciteti, koji su verovatno samom McLarenu neisplativi (cak i jedan Lamborghini-Audi poverava deo konstruisanja npr. Cosworthu u ono vreme za V10 motor), pa su uposlili nekog od mnogobrojnih konsultantskih kuca da im konstruise i izvede motor. Zato su i hteli da kupe BMW-ove pogone za F1 motore. I za F1 su koristili BMW motor.

Mercedes want Michael Schumacher to drive in F1 team


Michael Schumacher is poised for a sensational return to Formula 1 with the new Mercedes team, according to BBC Sport pundit Eddie Jordan.

Mercedes want the seven-time champion as their lead driver after taking over title-winning Brawn, Jordan says.
"The possibility is being actively pursued and I believe it is going to happen," said Jordan.
Schumacher's spokeswoman Sabine Kehm told BBC Sport a return was "highly unlikely - but never say never".
The plan is for Schumacher to be a stop-gap before Mercedes can prise German rising star Sebastian Vettel out of Red Bull, Jordan said.

The move would reunite Schumacher with Mercedes GP team boss Ross Brawn, who masterminded all his seven titles at Benetton and Ferrari.
The German, who will be 41 in January, had to pull out of a temporary comeback to F1 last year as a replacement for the injured Ferrari driver Felipe Massa because of a neck injury.
But Kehm said that while Schumacher had not had any new tests on his neck, it was expected to be healed by the end of the year.
Jordan said: "It started with a meeting between Michael, Ross Brawn and Daimler chief executive officer Dieter Zetsche at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
"At the moment, it is not possible for Michael to drive for Mercedes because he has a consultancy contract with Ferrari.

"I also believe Ross and Michael have spoken in recent times and that Michael likes the idea of driving a Mercedes run by Ross. It's a mouth-watering idea.
"Schumacher was bitterly disappointed he didn't get to come back to replace Massa - he's keen to race again. And this is a dream for both parties.
"Michael and Mercedes go way back - he drove for their sportscar team before he raced in F1, and they were responsible for getting him in to F1. They paid the then Jordan team to give him his debut in 1991.
"He has won all these titles but never driven in F1 for Mercedes."
The Brawn team rose out of the ashes of Honda, which quit F1 in December 2008, and won the drivers' world championship with Jenson Button in 2009, as well as the constructors' title.
Mercedes's takeover was announced on Monday, but the team are looking for a lead driver following Button's decision to move to McLaren for 2010.

Signing Schumacher would be an ideal way for Mercedes to head off the negative publicity that has arisen from letting the world champion slip through their fingers.
A source close to Ferrari says the Italian team have yet to be asked to release Schumacher.
Schumacher's contract with the company was changed recently to remove him from any links with the F1 team, for which he was a consultant.
He is now an ambassador, consultant and test driver for the company's road car arm.
It is understood that during the summer Schumacher explored the idea of driving a third car for Ferrari on an occasional basis, but this is forbidden by F1's rules.
Kehm said Schumacher had given her no indication that he wanted to make a full-time return.

Vettel, 22, is contracted to drive for Red Bull until the end of 2011 and, while contracts are often broken in F1, Mercedes may not find it easy to buy him out.
Red Bull is owned by the soft drinks company's founder Dietrich Mateschitz who, as a billionaire, does not exactly need the money.
If the Schumacher deal does not come off, fellow German Nick Heidfeld is considered most likely to get the second Mercedes seat alongside Nico Rosberg, another German, whose contract has been signed but not officially announced.
But another possibility for Mercedes might be the highly rated Polish driver Robert Kubica.
He has signed for Renault, but the French company is deciding whether to continue in F1, with a decision due before the end of the year.
If Renault pulled out, Kubica would be on the market, and he might be an attractive option for Mercedes, who have moved to dismiss widespread claims that they are determined to sign two German drivers by describing their new F1 team as "global".

Bruno Senna - more than just a famous name?
   
If ever a driver was destined to make it into Formula One racing then you could argue it was Bruno Senna. And finally it has come to pass. The nephew of the late, great three-time champion Ayrton, Senna will make his race debut with the new Spanish team Campos Meta next season.



At the mature age of 26, by modern F1 standards Senna is not exactly young. So how did he find his way to the pinnacle of motorsport? Here’s the story of his career to date…

If ever a driver was destined to make it into Formula One racing then you could argue it was Bruno Senna. And finally it has now come to pass. The nephew of the late, great three-time champion Ayrton, Senna will make his race debut with the new Spanish team Campos Meta next season at the mature age - in modern F1 terms at least - of 26. Here’s the story of his career to date…

Like all young boys with dreams of racing, Senna tested his mettle in a kart. Of course, not all fledgling racers could stretch their legs on a private family track alongside an F1 legend of an uncle as this Brazilian did, but then not all youngsters would have to face the shock of that same uncle’s untimely death after a crash during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix.

When his own father was also killed less than two years later in a motorbike accident, Senna’s life changed forever and he stopped karting and concentrated on his studies instead. For a boy who had always hoped to follow in his famous uncle’s footsteps, it was no doubt difficult to adjust to life back in the classroom, but he coped well, even starting a business degree when he left school.

But the racing bug remained, and in 2004, ten years after he had turned his back on motorsport, Senna decided to return and moved to the UK. It was a brave decision. Although his name meant he’d have no trouble finding financial backing, in the context of Fernando Alonso winning karting championships at 11 and Sebastian Vettel making his Formula One debut at 19, at 20 years-old he was already considered ancient for a novice. Ayrton’s nephew or not, many thought he’d have his work cut out.

His age, however, didn’t seem to faze the Brazilian and that season he kick started his career participating in the final three rounds of the British Formula BMW series. At Donington Park, in just his third race, he qualified second and finished sixth. That year he also competed in the non-championship Formula Renault race at Macau and took his first-ever podium with an impressive drive to second place.

In 2005 he moved onwards and upwards to the British Formula Three series, and over the season put in several strong performances, including three podiums and one pole position, to finish 10th in the championship. He stayed on for a second year of British F3 in 2006. Racing for Kimi Raikkonen’s team, Raikkonen Robertson, he enjoyed an even better season than his first.

Three pole positions, five wins, two second-places and 219 points secured him third in the championship behind British drivers Mike Conway and Oliver Jarvis. His talent behind the wheel, especially in the wet, was beyond doubt and he even found time to take part in that year’s Formula Three Masters race, finishing seventh, just behind Vettel.

It was becoming clear that Senna was more than a match for his younger, yet more experienced rivals and in 2007 he made the move up to the Formula One feeder series GP2. Racing for Arden, he acquitted himself well, taking one win and a further two podiums to finish third overall. Once again he stayed on for a second season in the series, and once again his performances improved.

Scoring six podium finishes, including two wins and three pole positions, he finished the season runner-up to Giorgio Pantano. Over the winter he’d also competed in the GP2 Asia Series, taking an additional two podiums. It seemed a Formula One drive was already a case of when, not if, and in November Honda granted him his first taste of Formula One power, inviting him to test as they eyed him as a possible 2009 driver. He covered over 140 laps of Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya as he familiarised himself with the Japanese team’s car.

Both he and the team seemed happy, but then Honda made the surprise announcement that they were withdrawing from the sport. The team morphed into Brawn GP, but the new management were understandably wary of taking too much risk, and opted to run with Honda’s existing and experienced line up of Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello. It looked as though Senna had missed the boat.

Bitterly disappointed, the Brazilian decided to forgo another series of open-wheeled single-seater racing for 2009, and instead focused on sports car competition, taking part in both the Le Mans 24-hour race and the Le Mans series. Behind the scenes, however, he never gave up on his Formula One dreams and in October it was announced he’d signed to race for Campos Meta, one of the four new teams set to join the grid next year.

Having already visited the factory for a seat fitting and to complete some initial tests, everything looks in place for the Formula One grid to once more be graced by the name Senna. "If you think I'm fast, just wait until you see my nephew Bruno," was a quote famously attributed to Ayrton, and with the wait nearly over it’s at last time to see if the Brazilian legend was correct. Roll on 2010!
