I pred dolazak Željka Joksimovića u Mostar, raznorazna udruženja bošnjačkih i hrvatskih boraca protestovala su i tražila da mu se zabrani dolazak. I odbornik SDA u mostarskoj skupštini Adnin Hasić za govornicom parlamenta tražio je da se usvoji zvanična odluka o zabrani dolaska Joksimovića u Mostar, ali je mostarska skupština to odbila i poručila da je Joksimović dobrodošao u Mostar.
