Air Force Co-hosts 4th Annual Information Technology Day


Washington - The Air Force and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) are teaming to present an informative, innovative program for the fourth annual Air Force IT Day. The event will be held Nov. 17 at the Sheraton Premiere in Tysons Corner, Va. This year’s theme is “Operational Support Modernization: Strengthening the Enterprise for Warfighter Support”.

Throughout the day, Air Force leaders will share their expertise on the requirements driving operational support modernization efforts.

Keynote speakers will examine where the Air Force has been, analyze what is working in current operational conflicts, and outline future challenges and possible industry solutions. Attendees will gain a better understanding of why operational support modernization is a top Air Force initiative and where the opportunities lie for industry.

Keynote speakers and program participants include:
· Lt. Gen. William “Tom” Hobbins, Acting Chief of Warfighting Integration and Chief Information Officer; nominated to be the Commander, United States Air Forces in Europe; recently confirmed to receive his fourth star
· Lt. Gen. Steven W. Boutelle, Army Chief Information Officer/G6
· Lt. Gen. Howie Chandler, Deputy Chief of Staff for Air and Space Operations
· Lt. Gen. Donald J. Hoffman, Military Deputy, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition
· Maj. Gen. Mike Peterson, Director, Information, Services and Integration; nominated to be the Chief of Warfighting Integration and Chief Information Officer; recently confirmed to receive his third star
· Maj. Gen. Tommy F. Crawford, Commander, Air Force Command and Control, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Center
