"Aмерички глумац Антон Јелчин, који је познат по улози Павела Чехова у франшизи „Зведане стазе”, погинуо је данас у саобраћајној несрећи у 27. години, саопштила је полиција и његов представник за медије.

Јелчин је стајао иза свог аутомобила, који је кренуо у рикверц, када га је ударио и заглавио између сандучета и ограде, пренео је АП позивајући се на наводе полицајаца из Лос Анђелеса Џени Хосиер.

Глумац је, како додаје, кренуо да се нађе са пријатељима на проби, а када се није појавио дошли су до његове куће и пронашли га мртвог.

Јелчинов представник за медије Џенифер Ален потврдила је смрт глумца и рекла да је његова породица замолила за приватност.

Јелчин је каријеру у Холивуду почео као дете са мањим улогама у независним филмовима и разним телевизијским емисијама, пре него што је добио улоге у филмовима као што је трилер „Алфа мужијак” и тинејџерска комедија „Чарли Бартлет”.

Његова највећа улога била је у филмовима „Звездане стазе”, чији ће последњи, трећи део, почети у јулу да се приказује у биоскопима.

Јелчин је рођен у Русији, а његови родитељи су се професионално бавили уметничким клизањем и преселили у Русију када је он још био беба."

  The unexpected death of actor Anton Yelchin comes just one month away from the release of “Star Trek Beyond,” in which he reprises his role as Chekov.
Paramount, the studio releasing the film sequel, shared a statement on Sunday, paying tribute to the late actor:
“All of us at Paramount join the world in morning the untimely passing of Antony Yelchin. As a member of the Star Trek family, he was beloved by so many and he will [be] missed by all. We share our deepest condolences with his mother, father and family.”
  Paramount is not commenting yet on whether there will be any changes around the release of the film, due in theaters July 22.
